Anyone interested should get in quick and apply online.
I spoke to them today and ALL rates are under review but if you`ve applied the rate will be honoured.
6.25% fixed `til end of next year, one withdrawal allowed BUT with 90 lost of interest.

On their website the rate is 6.25% but in yesterday`s Express the advert said 6.5% + 0.25% to the poppy appeal.

Decided on this one as opposed to slightly higher postal ones,as can operate online and luckily already have a Coventry account.Registered for it this morning and it is showing up already.Have just now transferred what i can from the original account and waiting to put some more in on wednesday( hopefully the account will still be eligible for that). Another plus is that you get an extra month or more of the decent rate.Plus i have found out that when i transfer from my bank HSBC,it will be transferred straight away.

Has to be a lot better than waiting for forms, sending them back and then waiting for the account to be opened and the cheque cleared.Plus the worthwhile charity benefits too.

90 days loss of interest.......which is brilliant for people like me, who won't want the money......but there again.....or on the other hand.....
  • When applying for this bond online, did anyone receive a confirmation email? Also, is anyone aware of how long the account will take to set up? I completed the online application yesterday (which appeared to go through fine) and I'm wondering when I should expect something through the post. I'm concerned that by the time I'm verified my identity, the bond will no longer be open for deposits.

    Thanks.

When i applied for an account to be run online, earlier this year, it did take a few days,as i too had to verify my ID.This time round of course it was very quick.

I think they will honour the rate as you have applied before they close this bond. All you can do is wait, they are bound to be quite busy because of the rush for good rates but i found them very competent and their website easy to use.If you are worried, give them a call.

No, there is no confrimation e-mail.
I have only just applied but I am a member already.
  • How do you know if you're a member and what your details are without any form of confirmation? Or, are you just expecting something through the post and presuming you are a member until that point?

    Thanks.

I think I misread your post. Did you mean a member of Coventry BS?

I set up two accounts with them earlier this year, one for me and one for wife. Mine was set up by return of post with my ID verified electronically. For some reason my wife had to send them the usual ID stuff and so took about a week or so. They gave us account numbers and sort codes straightaway so we could both BACS money in before we had net access to the accounts.

When I phoned them on Friday I had a long wait to get through, which is unusual, and they sounded a tad harrassed - so would guess they're currently a bit pushed and new apps will probably take longer than usual.
Once you have one account with them you can set up other new accounts on-line which show alongside existing accounts within 2 hours.

Would be surprised if they didn't give reasonable time once they have your application.
