Halifax Faster payments (Not Working)

Oh no, I never have problems with that, always instantaneous.

However yesterday it took them 4 hours to make a telephone requested transfer of a rather large sum from one of my savings accounts to our current account (we were repaying our Nationwide mortgage).

The security checks were not so much the "3rd degree" as the "6th degree" !! I was however surprised that they did not ask what we wanted the money for.

What we need is update info on what is working and when. Every time I phone Halifax up to say it has failed what is happening they haven't got a clue and usually say it is the other end's fault. All these are Halifax to Tesco. I'll update this post each day I try. I'd be interest to know if anyone succeeds on days I fail. That would help prove if the 3FP limit is per day or per week!

Today a £500 transfer said yes FP available but I clicked back and tried £600 to see if the limit had changed. Since Halifax don't publish the limit how else do ou tell . No FP. So click and enter 500. Still no FP. Try £1. Still no FP. Log out and back in again and retry. Still no FP. I've broken it. How long will it take to recover now I wonder?

17 Dec - working (well that's a surprise, only 4 days broken, 2 x FP sent)
18 Dec - working (1 x FP sent, 3 x FP exceeded stopped working)
19 Dec - working (rules must have been relaxed, 2 x FP sent)

ok, this is what I tried..............

24/11 working (trial payment of £100 to Tesco)
25/11 working (allowed 2 x £500 only to Tesco)
26/11 sort of working (would only allow 1 x £400 to Tesco, not 500)
27/11 not working, tried 3 different destinations( checked sort codes)
28/11 not working, as above. But working for 3 x £500 for daughter
29/11 not working, tried 3 as above
30/11 not working, as above
1/12 not working, as above
2/12 not working, as above
3/12 not working, as above

so now 7 days since it worked for me.

4/12 Not working
5/12 Yaayy!! transferred £100 to Tesco

i think it must be 2 or maybe 3 max a week or something because both mine and my GF's wont do any faster payments now after doing a couple each in the last week. it doesn't matter with bank i try sending to (so that rules out it being the receiving banks problem!!) nor what amount i try, even a measly £1........arrggghhh!!!!

If it was 3 per week, I should have been able to send 2 payments on the 3rd.

And I should not have been able to send a payment on the 26th. So that doesn't fit the theory.

There must be some reason it doesn't work!

Mine worked overnight this week, i sent £900 to hsbc on monday at 5pm and £200 to natwest again at 5pm, they were in there by the next morning!

Was not working earlier this week when I transferred some money between Halifax and A&L.

As you can see from my post 53, FP has not worked for me since 2 Dec, 10 days now, and I have tried at least daily. It occurred to me to check if my daughter, who has a halifax account too, could make a FP to my tesco account (just £1 to test it). That worked fine. As did my FP transfer from Tesco to halifax. I phoned up to day and had a go at them. They haven't a clue whether FP for everyone was working or not, if it was just me, or what. Hopeless. I'll have a try tomorrow I think and see how much I can transfer via my daughter account.
