Halifax Faster payments (Not Working)

I have tried to make a Faster Payment from the Halifax today but the system will not let me.
Anyone else having problems.
Halifax online staff say its working but even they could not make a payment go through the faster system and tried from £1 to £15000 max)
The receiving account Nationwide accepts FP as I successfully made a £1 transfer a week ago.

It only seems to work for me on a current account, not one of my savings accounts.

I have found that, despite some institutions saying they use the FP system, it rarely works in practice.

My payments were from a current account to a current account.
The Halifax suggested taking a cheque round to the other Bank (this is real 21c progress)
I will probably now miss the fixed rate account I had planned to open earlier this week all due to the system.

Used to work before with Halifax, now they probably put it on hold for some time due to high demand .. tried yesterday, was 3 days regardless of account type.

Worked for me last night, High Interest Current Account to Barclays was virtually instant.

Will try again now...

Done it. It says "Your payment will be sent immediately and should reach the recipient within 2 hours"

Will check if it's arrived...

Yes, there straight away.

Still working here, just done a transfer to FD and it arrived instantly.

I like the fact Halifax send you an e-mail after each Faster Payment ... about the best thing HBOS has ever done

Do Nationwide accept faster payments of all amounts? I sent £100 from Halifax to Natwest last week, which went FP, and at the same time sent £100 from Halifax to Nationwide, which didn't go by FP.

I suspect Nationwide may be only receiving small amounts by FP.

Im trying to get a FPS into halifax (to quickly open a fixed rate websaver) been trying all afternoon, TSB phonebanking cannot offer the service due to 'unforeseable circumstances'
I wonder if there are problems generally, due to the interest rate cut, and lots of people trying to shift their money around before the weekend...

Not working for me now either, not even for £1. Admittedly I'm trying to transfer funds which have only arrived today, which may have something to do with it.
