If this is from Halifax then your best bet is probably to wait until Monday and do it via BACs. BACs over a weekend is worse than normal as you lose any interest on sat/sun. And since Halifax only allows 1500 every 10 days it would take you almost 6mths to do it via FP :mad:.

I'm not quite sure of what the halifax secret limits are. You try 500/day and see if that works for more than 3 days, although that would take you 50 days. I tripped up on 2 x 500 one day and 500 + 500(failed) the next day. This was to one account like you want to do.

BTW CHAPS is another option although that costs. That would move the 25k is one day. Of course you'd have to weigh up the cost vs. the extra interest. Also can the account you want to move it to suck it out rather than you push it? Some accounts will move by DD and I think that takes only 1 day to move, although 3 days to set up.

The £1.60/min would be to use UK mobile in the USA to call another UK mobile in the USA (keeping in touch in theme parks). But AFAIR it wasn't that expensive in extra minutes to call UK. The house had a phone so we used that with a pre-paid card.

BTW, I was surprised to see that my Halifax FP were re-enabled today. Only 4 days after I was locked out. In previous times it has taken 10 days to re-enable. I wonder if they are actually fixing the problem?

Update: Sent 2 FP then tried to do 2 more FP next day. One worked the other didn't so there is still a 3 FP, or 3 x 500 limit and that is over 2 days. Or perhaps 24hrs? I should have waited until later to (dis)prove that. I wonder how long I'll be locked out for now, 10 days or 4 days?

Probably a security issue. Next time, transfer £3000 three times.

Just want to add my hand to the disgruntled collection here, I have been trying for the last 3 weeks to transfer funds from the halifax to Tesco with very little success, shocking level of service come on Halifax pull youre finger out

There should be no problem with transfers between HBOS accounts. I have several accounts with them and can make instant transfers of up to £20k at a time.

The only thing I have problems with are these Faster Payments.
