Halifax Faster payments (Not Working)

I think Halifax have relaxed the FP restrictions. I've now made an average of 3 FP per 2 days (2,1,2). Before I could only do 3 FP in 10 days (2,1,0,0,0....). Not before time. Don't know about the 500 limit.0

I've been trying all day and I cannot get a FP to go though to any bank and no matter what amount I choose and I only usually do 1 transfer a month... not really impressed at all... :mad:0

Just tried my first faster payment from Halifax to Tesco.
Test payment £10 - went through and showed up instantly - Hurrah!
Then tried £4500 (hadn't read this thread then) and it reverted to BACS
Read this thread so tried £500 - BACS, Tried £1 - BACS. Logged out and in again - BACS.
Gave up and put it in the Websaver - I only wanted it in Tesco for a couple of weeks anyway.
Maybe it will work next yearDo Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -
You may want to try again after 1 - 2 days. I think you have tripped the "fraud" flag but I think that resets in 2 days now, rather than the 10 days it was taking before. If you do try this and it works it would confirm the reset period.
Of course the only way we will get Halifax to get its act together is to complain. If they had to write a few thousand letters back and and answer a few thousand letters from FOS they might extract their digit.0 -

Nope - it's not a 2 day reset flag.
Tried £10 after 1 day - BACS
Tried £500 just now which is just over two days - BACS
Also, the initial £10 successful transfer was done via "Create a new payment". The payment went through but Tesco's has not shown up in my payees list so I have to retype the details each time. Is yours the same?Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -
Have just tried to send by FP £550,(to Coventry BS), "computer said no". BACS.
Tried £500. "computer said yes". FP will be there within 2 hours.
Phoned Halifax, was told limit is £500 online, phone cut off before I had a chance to ask if the limit was higher if done over phone,( was told last week the limit was higher!)
Tried another £50. 10 minutes later, "computer says yes". FP, will be there within 2 hours.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Have been online to Coventry BS on and off for the last 2 hours, both payments have now been received and credited to my account, took the 2 hours that they said it wouldDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0

I'm highly annoyed about these so called 'secret rules'. I guess it's my own fault, but I'd relied on being able to make FP's at anytime between christmas day and today. I obviously broke one or more of these rules because I haven't been able to do any FP transactions, after doing an inital modest amount on christmas eve. Now, as I thought might happen, my direct debits have gone out of my other account before I could fund it properly, so will no doubt get stung for going overdrawn. What a great end to this year, thanks Halifax!!An uneffected guitar sounds like a little girl crying. An uneffected bass sounds like an angry Rhino!0

Blimey, the criteria for clinical insanity is harsh these days
It goes without saying that, had I read this thread before, I wouldn't have even entertained the idea of using FPs over the last few days. But since FPs have come in I've used it a number of times and had no problems. But the amount involved this time around was a little more and must've triggered whatever the threshold is to stop it working. I searched for 'halifax faster payments' on MSE and found this thread because of the problems I was having. Hindsight is a wonderful thing as they say.An uneffected guitar sounds like a little girl crying. An uneffected bass sounds like an angry Rhino!0
