  • Good morning folks ,damp and misty her this morning .just had my porridge and feel quite warm inside .Light lunch for me as I have to pick one of my DGS up from school early as he has to have a filling in his tooth fixed. Then its back to his Mums and we are having a few fireworks in the garden and some sparklers .Dinner will be sausages ,jacket spuds ect and lots of bits laid on the table to help yourself to. My DD does this every year as she says a buffet is easier when you have lots of little boys running in and out to see the fireworks. Must search out my leather gloves before I go and a nice thick scarf.
Still a NSD today, so I am hoping to come in well under budget in this months GC. Found some lovely asparagras last night in my freezer and it went down beautifully with my salmon and salad spuds.

I have 4 oranges in the conservatory that really must be used up.
I keep my fruit out there as it seems to keep longer. I had one yesterday, but it was just starting to get a bit dry, anyone have any ideas what I can used them up with as I would hate to bin them.

Well <<hugs>> to those in need, especially Pen-Pin, hope all goes well for you today at the hospital
    Cheers everyone

    Morning all :D
Just put some pears and blueberries into the slowcooker for a cobbler later,I need to use up some of the fruit I've frozen,it seems to be breeding in there!
Have lamb shanks defrosting for dinner and whizzed some burgers up for DS3.
I've joined in the storecupboard challenhge too this month as I need to find a bit of space in the freezers so I can have a prechristmas bake up.
DS2 has had his checkup at the hospital and has his next op first week in Jan  so I need to try and get organised..there's not much chance of that but at least I know I NEED to :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good day I missed you all over the hols!

I've never bothered much about Bonfire Night in the past, didn't always have the money to do anything when the kids were young.

Last week I had a call from No.1 son (aged 36) asking if I fancied hosting Bonfire Night this year.

The deal is that I get to provide the food and they all provide some fireworks each and bring their little darlings round here with them.

I get to see all my grandchildren in one go (punishment or pleasure:confused: ? - the jury is still out on THAT one!).

They all get to see lots of fireworks without forking out 'silly' money and stuff themselves silly on 'slow-cooker scouse', hotdogs, jacket spuds and gingerbread men.

I get left with the messy garden and dirty dishes while they take home a bunch of kids that have been fed and are absolutely shattered/ready for bed!

Ever get the feeling that you've been 'HAD' !

Come on - you know you will love having all the family. You could suggest that one adult from each family comes round the following night for a clean up. Be cheeky and ask then to bring a bottle each!
