I almost feel sick now after reading this , i have just in the last week had the phonecall , paid the £99 , had the paperwork through , sent it off and then i discover this thread
Only 2 days before i had the initial phonecall a friend of mine alerted me to this subject of claiming PPI back , well its the first i had heard so when the phone rang i didn't bat an eyelid and thought nothing of it and went along with it all , i have sent an email to the ministry of justice enquiring about 1st line services and also checked their address out and it does not come up as them !! In their letter they claim to be authorised by the ministry of justice and have a registration number of 14628. So in the meantime i hope anyone can update me.
Thanks in advance.0 -

Was stung by this lot yesterday. Then after they obtained my details, I found this thread and began to panic. Phoned back Matthew Price (and Tony Hartwell) at 1st Line who became rather obnoxious and gave me a whole rant about ex 1st Line employees creating trouble for them and posting disparaging remarks about their company online. Apparently they have the police looking into these posted remarks (ironic)........guess we no longer live in a country which houses free speech!
I have to return the forms when they arrive with a covering letter and I should get my refund. Strangely, I called the bank yesterday, (almost straight after giving 1st Line my details) and cancelled my card, but they said they weren't able to block the payment as I had given my details to these cretins voluntarily. The bank said they would wait for the payment to come off and then fill out a non fraudulent claim form (whatever that is).....and then try to get the money back.
Will keep you guys informed!
I too have been stung by these people saying they can reclaim ppi's for you. they seemed very convinsing, but thats what they are supposed to do !!!(silly me ) I have cancelled my credit card as I tried to ring them but the lines were too busyi'm not surprised!!! I opted for call back so it wouldn't cost me more money on phone calls.. that was at 9am this morning, guess what no call back:mad:.

I was rung by 1stlineservices this morning, I did a search and 1st (no pun) on google was martins money savers (should have known :-) )
i read up quickly while half listening, and I started to quiz them, and tell them I dont want cold callers.
just 3 hours later they ring again, this time I lose it and start shouting at them in a spazmo voice to go away and leave me alone, do not ring, the women was laughing at me, I said pass me across to Michael your rip off merchant of an M.D.
this welsh guy came on and I gave him a torrent of abuse.
I felt great.
I hope they ring again so I can let some steam off !
Ha Ha.
next time they ring Im going to put them on hold and pass them across to wife, she will start asking them for their order, when they ask what is she on about, she will say you phoned to order a pizza yes ?
has got to be done, I will tape it and put a link on here for you all to listen to.0 -
Sent an angry letter stating that if I didn't receive a full refund in the next 5 days, then I would instruct my sister (who is a solicitor), to deal with them. Just got back from my holiday to find a cheque from them for £99 pounds............99p was missing but I ain't complaining. Will let everybody know if it bounces ;-). Stay well away from this lot!!!!0

Could you shed any light on a firm of solicitors called '1st choice solicitors' in Newport please , they do not show up on any internet search and are not on the solicitors regulation authority register , i spoken to your office regarding contacting them because they are apparently pursuing our claim , and the chap said he did not have a phone number or address for them which i find very strange . I have tried phoning you without success.
Many thanks.

"We can also assess your credit cards to see if the balance can be written off.
Send us your credit card statement and our legal team will check to see if they think there are good prospects of a claim they will contact you. The legal team would ask you for payment of £199.00 + vat which would be put onto the credit cards. This charge would be the costs for the searches.
This charge will then be made against the credit card provider and will be wiped off along with the balance on the card if the claim is successful. If the claim fails the money will be refunded by the legal team so it is a win win situation."
That is just blatant theft. Reporting to the MoJ.0 -

Having been told by 1st line services that our claim was in the hands of 1st choice claims i've spoken to 1st choice claims to chase progress and they told me they have never received any information to do with us or our claim at all
I have since requested my admin fee back so just waiting for that.0
