Has anyone had dealings with a company called First Line Services. They phoned to say they had money to send to me re PPI on a loan I had in 1991. Wanted my debit card details for confirmation of my ID. Don't know if this is a con or not.

Knee jerk reaction: Yes, of course it is. Where did they get your phone number from? Why aren't they writing to you? Why are they calling you rather than the loan provider?0

To be a claims management company they would need a claim management number. They need reporting to the Ministry of Justice. They are very good and get back to you almost immediately.0

First Line Services have been cold calling me for days - a guy by the name of Darren who was calling from the number 07852 730025. They told me I had been missold a PPI, which is completely false.
I told them I was not interested and they kept phoning me, even becoming abusive when I told them to stop harrassing me.
Does somebody know who First Line Services are and how I can report them to authorities pls?0 -

Dodgy as hell e.g. claim it is a "freephone" number whereas in fact it is an 0845 one.0 -
I note from their web site that the ppi page is taken down.
Please note that claims companies cannot cold call you on the telephone.
There is a CRM number and they have only been regulated since September.
Obviously not had time to brush up on the regulations yet.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
1st line phoned my wife at home, and then me at work today to tell me that I had been missold PPI (I haven't). They asked for £75, and unfortunately my wife gave them my debit card number. After phoning my bank to cancel my card (Grrrr! wait 5-7 days for replacement) I have reported it to the claims regulator at Trading Standards in Cardiff. I will report any response.
Thye have connections to 2 offices in Cardiff and one in Swansea...so far.0 -
I am also aware of this company, i used to work for them. when i started there i knew something funny was goin on, wen i was there the people could say watever they wanted to get a sale, (these are the experiences you lot are talking about) i only stayed there like 2 weeks because i thought to myself its only a matter of time before a company like that goes under.
abit of a hint to anyone wanting to use the service. . . don't you dont get your 74.99 back. i was told this because i made the mistake of saying to a customer that you get it back. that is how the company makes its money. my boss said to me that they "wont care" about the 74.99 once they have like 3000 pound back... i think i would.
You can get this service done free of charge via other companies so go down that route!
If anyone has any questions about the company dont be affraid to ask.0 -
Just had another call from Katie at first line services asking for 74.99 to start the case, she tells me will defo get money back from my loan company. How does she know this!! when i have checked i have never taken any ppi out. I also asked would i defo get my 74.99 back which she assures me i would, she sounds very convincing but am a bit unsure about giving my details out as few bad comments, has anyone got anything good to say about First Line Services! please help!0

However, I have since seen the light.0
