Hi Guys
I thought i would shed some light for you on 1st line services, i had a call from them 3 months ago and was promised payment protection charges for around £3k and at first i was very concerned about them taking my bank details and having my details on their system. so i asked the chap who rang to ring me back in a hour i looked online and all i could find is you guys moaning about them, now i am not short of a few bob and i would never of normally paid anything over the phone but i did, i actually had 4 claims i could make and i worked out 10% would be around £7k back in claims if they were succesfull, so i then realised it would only be £25 for each claim and it saves me all the hassle as it is £99.99 admin fee for however as many claims u have.
6 weeks later i recieved a cheque of over £7k and it couldnt of been easier they dealt with everything all i had to do was answer my phone and give them my card details, so before you all speculate and 'know' they are a scam, get your facts right first and then complain about them. I feel for the managing director of this business as you guys have given his business a bad name when they havent done anything bad to you.
Sorry but i was so happy with my claims back i had to write this.

Hi Matthew.
What do you mean about the 10%.
You gained 10% of your debt back. So had debt of £70k?
Or the company took £7000 off you in commission i.e. you benefited £70k.
As I understand it 1st line services take a commission of 15-20%. So I am not following what your circumstances are.
I have been very tempted to try this company but can't find any info about them. Nor can I find any info about there "partner" solicitors Kerobo.
I find you story very interesting can you let us know any more info about your claim and how 1st line services dealt with it.
Thanks

Hi House20
You said you used to work for them and you thought they were dodgy.
Were you aware of any claims that had actually gone through to completion?
And do you know anything abot the Kerobo solicitors they worked with?
Thanks

I received a call from this company today and it has left me feeling really unsettled. The gentleman (Miles) who spoke to me, was very pleasant and professional. I was very confused by the phone call as he said I had a claim against a certain 2 building societies, one for £2,000 and one for £1,750 and I knew I hadn't made any claims against anybody. He said that I had been sent a letter with regard to this and that today was the last day for making the claim. I told him that I hadn't received any letters and was confused. He confirmed my name, my husband's name and our address and he sounded so legitimate that I felt pretty convinced and thought that maybe my husband had been pursuing this claim. It was when he asked me to confirm my card details that alarm bells began to ring and the fact that he gave me the first 5 digits of my card number. I asked him to give me his telephone number and I would call him back. The number he gave me was 08719069720. I called it back which left me still unconvinced and thus led me to this website. He called me back again within about 5 minutes and I told him I would get back to him.
How do these people have such information about me - it is very worrying.0 -

I am the Managing Director of First Line Services (UK) Ltd. I'd like to start with we do not monitor this site, the challenge we have is that when potential clients put our name into a search engine such as google, this site appears in the sites found section.
This is a message to all clients or potential clients of First Line Services (UK) Ltd: -
We have been established since January 2007, we first started out offering warranties on mobile phone handsets and electrical products, such as playstations, xboxes, and laptops etc. Early in 2008, we applyed to the Ministry of Justice to be come regulated by them as we wanted to start providing a service rather than sell and market warranties. We have been regulated since August 2008 and have been offering potential clients the chance of claiming back unlawful charges on any loans, finance of credit cards that they may have taken out over the past 6-7 years. Yes we require an admin charge to process the claims pack, but this admin charge is refunded along with any clients unlawful charges.
Once one of the account managers has spoken with any potential client and the client wishes to proceed, no monies will be taken unless the client has spoken with one of our experienced Quality Control executives, in which all calls are recorded.
I am very dissappointed with anyone who would put comments on here, that we are a scam, all we are trying to do is claim back unlawful monies for clients who were unaware that their bank, building society or finance company have unlawfully taken off them.
I hope this clears everything up for anyone who is unsure about our successful company.
If not please do not hesitate to contact me on my private mobile during working hours on 07970 747017.
Regards
Mr Anthony Winchester
MANAGING DIRECTOR
I'm sorry, Mr Winchester, but what your organisation have done is unlawful. Some people on here have made it clear that they are not happy with your practices.
To Stephen Matthews: No, we are not moaning about things, in this forum, the majority here have not got a good thing to say about this company. I was cold-called and told I was missold PPI from my first mortgage as well as on loans, etc. How did they obtain my details - and without my knowledge or permission too. What they are doing is breaching the Data Protection Act. The Act was brought in to protect our personal and sensitive data from people or firms who would misuse it. It is an offence under the Act to access a person's personal and sensitive data for the purpose of misusing it. This applies to 1st Line Services. Also, asking for card details upfront before they send you "forms", which probably won't be posted, is unsettling.
You may have had a good experience with this firm, Stephen, but you are, I'm afraid, in the minority here. No company has the legal right to just access your personal data and cold-call you. This firm did not do a proper security check either, which is against the Act and is a breach of security policy. I work in a call centre and as part of our calling procedures, we must do a full security check (Can I confirm name, Date of Birth, username, etc). This company did none.
If you do happen to give out your card details to this company, you have a legal right to get this refunded and if they refuse, you have recourse to take it further.
I'm sorry, Mr Winchester, but I (and other people on this board) do not like the way your company cold-calls us and accesses our data.0 -
unfortunately i'm involved with this so called '1st Line Services' through no contact of my own. They contacted me stating im owed £2500 which the solicitors would take a percentage of that which would be around £300. This guy called Dave called me from a mobile number (07727 939914) putting this claim before me while claiming I should of recieved a letter a few months ago which he is following up on. I do remember around a year ago making a claim online but definately not with these cowboys!
Anyway 'Dave' was reading out my address and name and so on then said all he needs to process this claim is a 're-fundable' £99 . Which i was made clear would come from my account once these so called papers arrivied which i was to sign and send back. I refussed to give my details to anyone over the phone esspecially a mobile number and to a guy i've never spoken to. So he starts to give me 'it's perfectly safe' and 'I understand your concern' etc etc then starts to read my account details back to me and asks me to confirm them saying one off the managers will call back in half an hour to clarify my claim. I felt slightly violated and unsure if I had made this claim along time ago and belivied I had been had.
As it goes I got the call back from some lady saying all I need to do is sign the papers and send them back to process this claim. While waiting for these papers to arrive I stummbled across this site and the problem which is going on and so decided to follow it up by calling the Managing Director Anthony Winchester. To no avail. Then this morning the papers arrived. Talk about feeling like you had your pants pulled down!
The queries number (0871 906 9720) doesnt work. and there so called partnership Kerobo Claims (who's number (08456 435584) I got off 'there' papers which were in this envolope) so i called them and they are a legit company and as soon as I started explaining to them the situation the guy started to laugh and said 'listen mate, call them back up and get your money back as these have been sending our papers to people and using US as there cause to charge you £99.' He went on about how just 2 mins before i called a girl from Glasgow just got off the phone with exactly the same story as I.
Great!!!
So back on the phone to 'Last' Line services. Dave!
Explained everything to him about whats happened and demanded my money back which his reply was if I just fill in the forms and send them back to which i replied no i want my money. So now I have to send the forms back to there office with a written letter asking for my money back. Nightmare. Really takes the biscuit that they can take it out as easy as that without my knowing then cant return it back without a grovel letter.
Oh yeah last bit of evidence why never to trust these people and why these should be reported. Having had there self addressed envelope ready to send my forms back to there office, i asked if I could have there address so I can send my letter of complaint to them and also ask for my money back. He read out there address but gave my the wrong postcode! These people are con's pure and simple. I aint heard one convincing word from anyone about this firm and truly think these people are scum for there practices. If Mr Winchester reads this please get in touch.0 -

Hi Tapley, very sorry to hear that you have fallen victim to this firm. I would send them a severe warning letter, saying that if they do not return your money in 7 days, that you will take further action against them. I would advise that you speak to Trading Standards and possibly ask a solicitor on where you stand legally with this. I don't know if a solicitor can give you free advice, but it's worth checking out. Did these people do a full security check when they phoned you? If not, they are breaking the Data Protection Act. They also broke the rules on fair trading because they gave you the wrong postcode for making an official complaint. If any firm breaks rules and policies in relation to fair trading, security and Data Protection policy, these firms are liable for heavy fines and/or a prison term. The Government and Competition Commission brought in these laws for our benefit as customers.
I would also have a look at Government related legislation. Okay it will be very verbose but it will clarify where you stand. If it is proven that this firm has broken the rules on Data Protection, fair trading and security policy, you could sue them.
Please let me know how you fared.0 -
Please report this firm to the Ministry of Justice. Now.0
