My wife has also just been called by these people. She was talked into agreeing to giving them £99. She then called me to check.
How did they have so much of her details, including card numbers?
What should she do now to stop the payment? Or can these people get our money back?
Hi there
Do you mean your wife was called by a company that helps with reclaiming and they made a charge?
If you know the name of the company, it may be wise to contact someone, maybe the FSA here:
0845 606 1234
Or OFT here:

In regards to my above post, write to that company to tell them to cancel with immediate affect, if this is paid through direct debit, cancel this as soon as possible, if you have online banking you should be able to do this online, or contact your bank.;)
Good luck, also tell the company you want this money refunded, if they do not do this within 14 days, tell them further action will be considered.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I mean First Line Services callled my wife today. We have since cancelled all her cards, but unsure how they had all her card details. One of her cards was only a few weeks old which had never been used!0

Arh right I see.;)
I do not know, but its so annoying how these people get our details, I know buy signing documents in the past, I think the names are listed where these agencies have access to phone numbers.

Jusr remember that a solicitor cannot accept a case that has been cold called. This company is breaching law society rules and new guidelines issued by MOJ.
If they cold call you, report them to the MOJI am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
Update... I am glad i cancelled the cards, as they took £99 without permission, as they already had my card details. The bank gave me back the money as i had cancelled the cards.

hi all,
On Tuesday I got a phonecall from First Line Services who told me that I was missold insurance for bank loan I took out several years ago. Initially when I answered the phone they told me that they were calling on behalf of my bank and I was due to get a refund of £1800. The name of the person who called me was Ridian!! He told me to confirm my details I was to read out my card details. Stupidly enough I did. After I did this it became clear that they were not calling on behalf of my bank and they wanted to take £80 off my account to send legal papers. I told them I dont want anything and not to deduct anything off my bank. After a 10 minute argument regarding them misrepresenting themsleves on the phone I asked that they do not call back and not take anything off my a/c. I straight away contacted my bank and asked them to cancel the card and send me a new one.
Yesterday I received another persistant call - told them to leave me alone.
Today another from Ridian again. Absolute disgarce and excuse of a company. I noticed the managing director of this company has left a message. He should not have the provilage of leaving messages on this forum and he should be in jail!!!!
Ive now done several things :
1) Contacted the Telephone Preference Agency that I am registered with as I should not receive sales calls - reported 1st line services
2) Contacted the FSA and reported this to them - Ive told them I will contact them again next week as I want an update on what they are doing about this.
3) Contacted the TV program "watchdog" to try and get more awareness of this
They have broken almost every regulation and process out there to protect people like me and should be closed down. Again, the Managing Director of this company is a cowboy who should be in jail!!!!0 -
I have been trying to contact their number for the last 2 days and all i'm getting is that all thier advisors are busy (sic),same thing with the customer service line (continue to hold or leave number for call back).
The reason for my call is that i recieved a call, back in late Oct early Nov last year saying that i had been missold PPI and was due money back (up to 5k).After paying £24.99 admin fee i recieved paperwork to fill in and send to a firm of lawyers dealing with the cases,i didn't send everything they wanted so i recieved another letter requesting it, i then sent the missing info.Since this time i have recieved paperwork from the insurance proveders which i have sent back to the lawyers via First Line Services(as instructed) the last of these was in early Jan since then i have heard nothing from anyone (hence the reason for my trying to call). Now obviously i'm very anxious after reading the posts on here and also very angry as i stressed at the time that things were very tight financially since being made redundant and finding work very hard to find in my field and had only managed to get short term temp work and we had also lost our home due to financial difficulties. The person i spoke to Lynne(i think) was very pleasant and helpful and it all seemed very plausible but i'm feeling a bit sick now as it seems i've been scammed by these ........ and its just another kick in the teeth i've got to explain to my wife:o0 -
Just as an update from the previous post:
I had a call yesterday(19/03) from First Line, saying they were sending me on a letter from the lawyers dealing with my case who needed a bit of additional info.I explained my feelings of misgiving to the lady i spoke to who was reassuring that things were fine.So i guess i'll get this sent straight back then hopefully i'll have an update for you all one way or the other.Feeling slightly better about things at the moment0 -
i also received a call from first line services(very convincing)stating that i had been mis sold ppi on a previous mortgage(i hadnt...still have the paperwork )what worries me is that they were able to quote the first four numbers of my debit card ...2 questions ,,,,,how did they get this info,,,,,and ,,,has this card now been comprimised and need to be cancelled0
