Having been told by 1st line services that our claim was in the hands of 1st choice claims i've spoken to 1st choice claims to chase progress and they told me they have never received any information to do with us or our claim at all
I have since requested my admin fee back so just waiting for that.
Had to chase my refund up and was told by the woman it was outside the 14 day cooling off period so i told them i would take it furthur if i didn't get my money back , she went away then came back and said i will get my refund because my claims were 'dead claims' there were no case of miselling ...... but it was 1st line services who rang us up in the first place to tell us we were due some money back ... very incompetent.0 -
Cold called by this shower yesterday despite me being signed up with TPS. Managed to get an email from them with more details...Thank you for your inquiry relating to the possible recovery of compensation in relation to the mis-selling of a Payment Protection Policy attached to your loan/mortgage or credit agreement. We are working alongside Payment Protection Refunds, a claims management company authorised by the Ministry of Justice to represent members of the public making such claims.Payment Protection Refunds will represent you and will be working alongside a panel of solicitors who have specialist knowledge of this type of claim.
We do work on a "no win, no fee basis", however we charge an administration fee of £99.99. That admin charge will cover as many borrowings as you like. We will let you know who you can and cant claim from, and we will reclaim the mis-sold PPI. On average £1,500 would go towards PPI on a £5,000 loan.
Where possible you need to provide copies of your loan agreement and/or the PPI Policy itself with the completed “Questionnaire”. Providing a copy of the loan agreement will enable our specialist team to make a fast assessment of your claim and the likelihood of success. We find that most people keep the paperwork associated with their loan. If you haven’t then we recommend that you telephone your loan provider and ask them to post you a copy of your loan agreement and the terms and conditions of the loan. Loan companies usually post those documents to you within a few days. If the copies don’t arrive or you are unable to contact your loan company – don’t worry you can still send the completed Questionnaire in to us and we will liaise direct with the loan company to obtain the necessary copies; although this may delay your claim by a couple of weeks. If in any case your claim is unsuccessful, all admin charges are refunded.
.
Yours faithfully
Lynda Trafford

Reported to MoJ, and reported as a scam on the Consumer Direct website.Cabot can now kiss my DONKEY. Statute barred is enough of a result, but the actions of the CABOT FAN CLUB have cost them far more than the paltry sums they were chasing us for. :beer:0 -
Just thought I would relate my experience with First Line Services.
My dad was cold called by them in July I think & they gave him the impression that they had already assessed his situation & that he would be due a refund. How exactly they would know this didn't occur to him:rolleyes:
He gave them his card details and they duly took £99 admin fee. He soon began to regret this & got me involved. After giving him a bollicking I suggested we see what happens as their email (posted above somewhere) clearly stated that any admin fee would be refunded.
Well the "pack" arrived which wwas basically a load of forms 1 each for any loan etc that might have had PPI on it. So it was up to him to get all the info & not being able to remember who he had dealings with we applied for his credit report for help. It was soon clear that he had not had any instances of paying PPI so we wrote back to First line requesting a refund.
To be fair to them after a reminder and threat of further action to Trading Standards MOJ etc they coughed up the £99.
To summarise, they do indeed seem to be a kocher business and reply to letters and phone calls.0 -
I had a call in August from 1st line services, same as everyone else on here telling me about the potential £1000s that might be owing to me via the PPI, so for £99.99 I thought I would give it a go........without thinking first about actually contacting my mortgage lender to see if I actually had this PPi in the first place!!!
Next day I contacted my mortgage lender, they said I didn't have the PPI, so I contacted 1st line via telephone and asked for a refund...........simple wasn't it, NOT
They said to write to them and put this in writingn writing, so I did and one month later no news, so I e-mailed them and they said a cheque had been sent.
Surprise, surprise, 8 days later and no cheque arrived and despite 9 seperate e-mails later not even a reply, despite threatning them with legal action!!
I advise EVERYONE to AVOID this company liket he plague DON'T be fooled like I was, they are all a bunch of crooks!!
I will get back here if I actually get a refund!0 -

Hi there
I have been foolish enough to give first line money - would like to get in touch with the journalist, haven't used this website before so am not sure which details belong to the journalist - can you point me in the right direction.
thanks0 -
This lot phoned on Saturday. Even if we weren't careful in the first place, the warning bells rang when they started saying they had to close the deal now. Why? If the money ...oh by the way we never had payment protection in the first place - has been sitting there for twenty years. To get rid of them I said I did nothing without cheking with my other half first. They phoned and phoned and since I told them to push off I have had a string of disturbing anonymous phone calls...number withheld. They are the only opnes ever to come up on the screen number witheld and I am certain there is no-one else would do this.0

I received a cold call on the 20 October from 1st Line Services i agreed to the sevice on impulse after being told i was due to £1400+ back from Mtge Protection i have. They debited £99.99 from card. After the phone call i changed my mind tried to ring straight back but it seems their offices close at 5pm the cold call i received a nearer to 6pm. To cut a long story short they won't let me cancel even though nothing has been signed by me they need some sort of pack back which i still haven't received with a covering letter.
After speaking to one of their managers they said i should write to them they will refund me. have written to them and are still waiting for my money back. I have spent ages on phone to them and have just found out its premium rate 10p a minute jobby, i now have a £38 phone plus any calls i have made from my mobile trying to get my money back.
I was also told they they would take 20% of whatever i win, after investigating them further its more like 25% plus VAT so you barely see any of what is awarded to you.
My advice would be don't do it.0 -
