The only car park I have been to in Bridgnorth is this one just before you enter the town if heading south.
SO 721 933 Which is called Severn Park on all maps (Use ordnance survey get a map website to put in coords and see area)
its just off the A442 as you head south in B'North.
Hope that makes the loc a bit clearer. Its not the Country park
We got our notice this morning. On the 16th september we parked in that car park and spent 10 mins fighting with the machine as it's buttons were proving to be a right pain in the !!!. Anyway we managed to get our ticket, leave it on the dashboard and go off canoeing for the day safe in the knowledge we'd paid ofr all day parking. Now we have a letter stating that we contravened parking rules and that we owe £35 or if not paid in 14 days £70.
I notice there is not contact number to argue with them on. The photo they say they can send will be of my car in the car park but not of the windscreen where the ticket would be clearly on view. Scammers like this should be taken outside and given a kick in. I am fuming!!!0 -
Yes these eejits are the scum of the earth and target legitimate parkers, including the disabled.
DH is a nurse and was doing a bank shift at a major hospital.. He got a ticket cos he didn't have a permit, that he couldn't get, cos he is bank and it was a nightshift so no one to sort it out for him. The eejits insisted he had to pay £120 (like he would have been working for nothing). Of course, I am a member here so I knew to ignore.
They managed somehow to get his mobile no, and rang him up to 10 times a day, even when he was sleeping after a nightshift. He answered it once(not knowing who it was of course), told them to F*** Off, and after several weeks they stopped.
He still awaits his court date, which won't happen, but god knows how they got his number.:eek:Debts :Paypal £1981.32
Monzo Loan £4278.16
Virgin CC £2137 0% until Dec 23
HSBC £5471.01 0% until Feb 2025
Emergency pot £404.47/2500
1p Savings Challenge £1.45/660
52 week Savings: £22.00/14000 -
but god knows how they got his number.
Under Data Protection regs you can make an SAR [Subject Access Request]....means you get a full copy of all the info they have on you [which may detail how they got his number].
Ok they charge you £10-ish, but if you found out for example that his employer had released his contact details then that would be worth a lot more!!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Most numbers are gained by data mining but it would be interesting as Oopsadaisy says to see if your DH,s employer past the number on. A clear breach of the DPA!
It makes you sick, who parks in a hospital car park at night? Its either staff, or relatives of seriously ill patients or casualties. Yet these maggots are still trawling the car parks looking for cash!!0 -

Thought I had heard the last of Newlyn had had 5 letters from them with a final chance to pay within the next 7 days, funny as I had received 7 letters in total from them and from CEL. I got a new letter today, which was interesting, it was addressed to the occupier of my address, in it, it asks for my new address.
It says and I quote
"Dear sir/madam,
We have been instructed to trace the previous occupier of your property, my full name, and would greatly appreciate your assistance in this matter. Could you please take the time to complete the form below so we can save you further intrusion. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
It then asks for the name of the present occupier, Tel. Number, Date moved into the property, Council tax reference, what solicitors was used of the property was purchased and their Telephone number,
The solicitors address. It then has the same information but if it is a rented property.
It then asks for the address of the previous occupant, i.e. me.
They have also put on the letter the reference number that they have used on the letter that they have sent to me previously and a council reference which is new that has not been on anything before.
Firstly, I wrote to them initially straight after the first letter I received, but since then I have totally ignored any correspondence after reading this forum, secondly are they able to try and trace me even though I have not moved house at all. I am assuming this is a new tactic as I have not replied to any of their threatening letters.0 -
This letter has been doing the rounds lately. I would send a copy to my local trading standards. Newlyns are well known for over stating their authority, this one is a gem!!
Carry on ignoring them, although they do have bailiffs with which they try and intimidate, in this case they are a powerless debt collection agency.0 -
TBH esmo it doesn't sound like they are breaking any laws...they are merely asking.
