  • No it will not I am afraid. this is a computer generated scam. Any communication from you will be ignored. Let them waste their money on postage and have a good laugh reading the meaningless threats. The letters are only worrying if you let them. Stop thinking this is anything but a nasty little scam.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

I take everyones point about not dignifying this company with a response but rather than keep on receiving more and more worrying letters might it not be better to write to them stating that you've got the lowdown on them from reading this particular forum, watchdog etc. and that you therefore will not be paying.

Wouldn't that make them give up straight away?

It may only work if you were lucky enough for your letter to be read by the employee who has the brain cell for that day!

You will most likely get is a letter saying something along the lines of:
"After careful consideration we have decided to reject your appeal, the contractually penalty still stands"

Although replace the contractually penalty with "charge"

So iyo it's easier to compose and send a letter than it is tothrow several bits of paper in the bin???

No, you'll only be confirming your details to them so they can bother you more. The advice is very simple - IGNORE.
  • SNAP!! :D

    Just received letter number 2!

I'll file it with the first one :rotfl:

Only had to wait one month for it to arrive
  • Similarly to those above, I had a notice from Civil Enforcement Ltd, saying that I'd over-stayed in a 90 minute limit car park. I'm sure there wer no signs at the time and so I decided to look them up online. This very site was the first place that came up on a Google search, with others below...I can't remember if the companies actual website even came up at all...says alot about the company I thought. Anyway I thought I'd get back on here because I remember loads of people complaining but nobody actually saying what finally happened.

:(I had my first notice on 2nd Feb for parking over the designated time (though there were no signs at the time) on 31 Jan. They wanted to fine me £150 for an over-stay of about an hour, in a free car-park with plenty of space (so no possible loss of earnings for them due to my over-stay)

I had a reminder on 24 Feb, with a stamp saying "Notice before legal action".

I then started getting letters from Newlyn stating they'd been instructed by Civil Enforcement Ltd. The first was on 25 March, then again on 4 April, 14 April and finally on 27 April stating that if they did not hear frm me in 7 days the file will be returned to Civil Enforcement Ltd who would progress to court action. It has now been 5 months (September) and so I am assuming they've crawled back into their hole and tried their scam on somone else.:j

After the first letter I called them and left a message, saying I hadn't seen any signs in the car park. they returned the call asking for me to call back or pay but that night I did some internet searches and following advice on this and other sites decided to completeley ignore them. If they ever do get in touch again I will post it on here, though with three in April and now 5 months silence, I'm not holding my breath.:T

  • I've posted something on the Euro Car Parks thread as we've now had a run in with them after our experience with CEL.

But just in case anyone here has heard of them (in Scotland) - we've had the usual couple of letters from ECP but now a firm called Walker Love in Glasgow (0141 248 8224) have been telephoning my son about it. Anyone else had dealings with them?

According to their website they are Sheriff Officers/Messenger at Arms which sound legit? :(. Would appreciate any advice - we're going to ignore them anyway but really don't want to get harrassing calls.

    Thanks guys

Sheriff Officers/Messenger at Arms or as we call them Bailiffs or court enforcement officers, They are official but they need a Sheriffs decree or a county court judgement to do anything!

In this case they are simply acting as debt collectors, so ignore them!

That's what we thought - thanks! I should have known that!:)
