Point of interest - I had a look on the British Parking Association's list of approved operators. Civil Enforcement Ltd are there, with their website listed as w w w . creativecarpark.co.uk which appears toi be a completely different company.

No don't cancel the card just yet ... do a charge back for illegally debited £45 first.

Creative Car Parking are just Civil Enforcement's Sunday name. Same company same MO. Keep on ignoring and yes - contact your credit card company and get that illegal payment refunded to you. Good luck!

OK so as a newbie to the forum, I am in the middle of the nervous waiting game. I have received the threatening letters from both Civil Enforcement and their debt collectors Newlyn. Was just about to write a letter to Newlyn after getting their second letter, but having just read through the forum I am resisting the urge. I am going to sit it out, however knowing how my luck goes I will be the test case that they use LOL. Here's hoping that they eventually get bored of sending me letters!!!

See how common your situation is just by looking at the first page alone on the forum (all updated from today and yesterday, all people currently ignoring PPC scams). Read a few threads including the top two I mentioned, and be confident when you file each letter in a drawer marked 'scam'.

We have now had Letter No4 on the list three times, still paying nothing. Funny, don't feel nervous now when they come through the letter box.

I too received a parking contravention enforcement from this company. My wife parked my car in a retail park in Weymouth Dorset, went into Curry's to look at a laptop for her pre-school, she parked for 40 minutes and I received my fine yesterday. £150 or £75 if paid within 14 days!!! You can actually park as a customer of any of the retail outlets there for 1 hr, I think they owe me 20 minutes!!!
Does anyone know of a way that this company can be stopped???:(
