Sorry, the colour is classed as blue.

You are not an MSE newbie so I am very surprised you are taking this rubbish seriously! Glad you came here first though. Please read the stickies! The colour doesn't matter, DO NOT PAY THIS!

The fake ticket is a scam. Getting letters from a debt collector for a scam is no biggie; debt collectors cannot do anything - no-one can send the boys round!

Read the stickies, look at the letters she or the registered keeper will just need to ignore. Nothing happens, it's not a crime, not a fine, NOT A PENALTY.

There will be no bailiffs, no CCJ, no effect on her credit rating. It's just like deleting a series of phishing emails. Most of us here have ignored a fake PCN from a private company, or several. TELL HER ABOUT THIS SCAM.

And when looking aty the top sticky for a preview of the scary letters to ignore, also look at Crabman's other sticky 'Welcome, PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING'. It would have answered your query and also has a link to Watchdog with a solicitor showing exactly what your family needs to do with that bogus ticket.

Show your daughter the Watchdog video and the scary letter preview. Do not pay!!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I haven't read the whole htread, so apologies if this has already been posted. Thought you might be interested to know that Gary Wayne of creative car park has started a twitter account:

Another chance to put a face to the name, and keep an eye on the companies he's working with.

Their website also helpfully lists the companies they have as clients. creative carpark dot co dot uk
You may wish to let those companies know what you think of their methods, if you're a customer or shareholder.

    HI
I have taken everyone's advice and ignored the letters (and phone call) from civil enforcement but received my 4th letter today! I have to admit it is getting increasingly hard to ignore as I have a lot on my plate at the moment and could really do without this. I am sure everyone who receievs these threats feels the same and I just wanted to write in again for some more reassurance!
    Thanks everyone.

Just keep ignoring them. You have the moral high ground. I bet you don't work in an industry that tries to scam people out of money like private parking companies. So why should these people prosper by sending out meaningless threats?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Just relax, you know it's all a scam so waste no time worrying about it. Each threatogram is just one nearer the 'Final final Warning' when they will give up - and the top thread on the forum shows the letter-chains so you know where you are with the scam series of mail:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

Also the PPC letters thread has a link to what to do to get rid of phone calling debt collectors, it's pretty funny if you want to have fun if they phone.

Otherwise, to stop phone calls, if they ring ever again tell them you will be reporting them for harassment which is a criminal offence. Tell them the alleged contract and any debt is denied so the debt collector must now desist with contact and pass the file back to the original parking company. If not then they will be breaking the law (Protection from Harassment Act, and also it's a breach of OfT debt collector guidelines) with any further contact in the absence of genuine sealed Court papers (they will never come by the way).

How hard is it to open a letter, laugh out loud at it and pop it straight in the bin???

Come on...grow a pair and try harder to do nothing at all.
