I too got a parking ticket from Irvine Multi Storey car park today. I have read all the forums saying you should not pay. I would love to hear the outcome of your ticket, nic2075
did they follow up your letters with a phone call ?? What was your outcome.0 -
I received the same letters, same car park in Irvine. Back in mid 2010. I'v e ignored them. Then I got a phone call two days ago, which I rebuffed.

Dunno but there are loads of threads on here about phone calls from debt collectors regarding private tickets. They phone because they are desperate to try to get more people to be hoodwinked and scared into paying.
Do not contact them but if they call again don't pretend it's not you. Ask them what it's regarding and if it's the rubbish fake PCN then state that 'any alleged debt to that company is expressly denied. Please send the file back to the original company. Any further contact from you will be harassment, as these phone calls already are. Cease contacting me or this household immediately.'
Then put the phone down. They will stop or they'd be committing a criminal offence.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Are you serious??????
I'm gobsmacked that you would change your number just because some scum are calling you.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -

A bit off topic, I had hassle trying to cancel a three contract once.
I told the caller I would pop round to the local shop. "they wont be able to help you" came the reply.
"I'm not looking for help" says me. "I'm going to wreck the place".
An hour later when I'd calmed down, and called back to try to cancel, it appeared my contract had already been cancelled.
Change my number? Not a hope in hell. I'd pay them a visit first.0 -
I haven't read all of the past 23 pages, as it may take me a while, but...
I had a letter from Civil Enforcement a couple of weeks ago containing a £75 penalty for parking in a customer-only supermarket car park for ten minutes. It rises to £150 if not paid within 14 days. Apparently they have photographic evidence, which costs £10 to get.
I know the civil level of proof is different from the criminal level of proof, but it's infuriating that these idiots prey on weak and vulnerable people to get money. The only photographic "evidence" that they have is of someone leaving my car, and returning to the car 10 minutes later having not used the normal entrance to that store from that car park, which is a tunnel. There are no cameras that show where this person went, what they did or that they didn't use the supermarket.
Of course, I haven't paid the penalty and today I got the "final reminder before legal action". I'd love to be taken to court on the strength of two photos that show someone leaving a car and someone walking back...I'd also imagine that you don't actually have to buy anything from a shop to be a customer, as nobody that walks into a shop is obliged to buy anything.
What a bunch of cowboys, I'll be looking forward to their legal action.0 -

There wont be any legal action, you're in for a very long wait so don't hold your breath. There is nothing to look forward to other than a stream of increasingly empty threats from CEL & their 'bouncers' Newlyn plc which eventually peter-out to zilch.
Don't be tempted to contact either of them in any way, shape or form. IGNORE is the message which thankfully you seem to have grasped.
Have a good browse around this & other forums, don't buckle under the pressure & post back if you need further reassurance.0 -
