Hey folks,
Been a while since ive been on this thread but i just wanted to let you all know that i completely ignored everything from CEL and Newlyn since Novemeber when I commited the alleged offence.
This is now June and ive heard nothing since beginning of March.
Hopefully they have given up so everyone stand your ground and ignore. Hope this helps0 -
UPDATE - as with pineapple123 I received the first Newlyn letter recently in the amount of £238.13.
Still ignoring!0 -
just received my 2nd letter wanting £150 and threatening bailiffs, ignoring alsoA happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0
-
Last week recieved another letter from Newlyn, 3rd one, refering the con back to someone ( sorry cant remember who as I didnt read it all and I've mislaid the letter somewhere).
Anyway same as always just ignored and thinking all this effort from them for nothing.

Received the second letter from Newlyn, dated 9 days after the first. Now awaiting the third referring the case back to CEL.
Pineapple123 - it's probably worth the effort to them as, unlike us, some will pay.0 -

I think you've got it in one. The PPCs resort to these bully-boy tactics hoping that enough people feel threatened and intimidated, give up and pay them. Some people would call that demanding money with menaces. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
hi, this is my first post but i originally recieved a letter from civil enforcement ltd and have now recieved 2 letters from newlyn. ive ignored everything so far but am just looking for some reassurance. Also i had a phone call from newlyn (i was out but someone else answered), i just wondered if anyone else had been contacted by them by phone and what people recommend to do if they call again, thanks.0

Just continue ignoring them as they are toothless and their demands are a joke, you can also demand that they not contact you by phone , not quite sure of those details, but someone will be along to give you the info.
The main thing is IGNOREExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

You can tell them not to contact you by phone, only by letter but that either way you won't be paying. Don't get into a discussion about why, just state that sentence only, repeat it if necessary in a boring 'stuck record' kind of voice.
Or you can tell them that any alleged debt is DENIED and therefore they cannot contact you further and must return the file to the original company. Use the word 'denied' and they have to act AFAIK.
Or you can tell them 'I will just get him' and then leave the phone dangling.
Or leave the phone within earshot of an annoying record (any crappyrap would do IMHO).
Or have some fun with them as per this thread:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=741653
Ultimately, you could simply say 'cease and desist with all contact about this matter, any further contact will be considered harassment and will be reported to the appropriate authorities because there is no debt outstanding and your continued contact is harassing me and my family'.
All in all, there's nothing to worry about, the phone calls mean they are getting desperate and will soon give up anyway. It's up to you which method you choose but if you want to report them to the OfT, Trading Standards/Consumer Direct, your MP etc. then I would seriously applaud you - the more people who do so will hopefully cause change in this despicable industry.
:TPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I got my invoice through this morning for parking outside Pizza Hut at the above location. I am so careful about checking parking fees and notices, so will have read the signs and believed to be within my rights to park there. I was dumbstruck when I opened the envelope but fortunately had the good sense to check on the net and found all the various discussions. I checked and you don't appear to have a collection of the CEL letters as examples. I am willing to collect, scan and upload a complete set of mine as I collect them over time, blanking out all personal info of course! Their letters to have an official feel to them, so I am not surprised that people panic and pay what is asked of them.0
