Alternatively send them a letter with none of your details in it stating here is a cheque for the balance, post it without a stamp, so they have to pay. Write on letter "cheque enclosed". They will get it, think got another one here more money, alas inside a letter stating here is cheque but no cheque.
They have paid to receive the letter yet not made any money.
Terrible advice.
As others have said, just ignore all correspondence from them.0 -

Hmmm why terrible advice. You are ignoring the letters, you are giving them no personal information hopefully they will spend some money on retreiving the post.
If you did read the 1st part I did say ignore.
Also i did say that it would be funny if they did pay for the post in my 2nd post.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

Hilarious.
It confuses the clear and consistent advice on here which is to ignore them.0 -
Urban myth
If they've any sense (and I'm sure they have a bit) they will just refuse delivery of all underpaid mail. They are quite happy to lose the odd cheque from someone who sends one and neglects to put a stamp on. They just write again and the fool pays up thinking it got lost in the mail
But if you are ignoring the letters anyway and not really sending in a cheque, how would they know its you.
Dear Sir
Please find cheque enclosed for £100.

The Driver
If they did pay for the postage how could they tell what your details are to resend you a letter. If you did get another letter you are ignoring them anyway.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.

Sorry, but it is a pointless thing to do and in my view confuses the clear message being given on this board.
What do you gain from it? Nothing.0 -

Sorry that I confuse you.
Satisfaction is what I would gain, knowing that maybe thet soent money to get my empty envelope.
We will have to agreee to disagree on this point.
In all my pervious post i have said ignore, just trying to put a bit of spin on these worthless bits of paper to maybe make it more interesting.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.

No. You misunderstand. I'm not in the slightest bit confused...other than by what your method actually achieves. Really can't see how it can make it "more interesting".
The point is, lots of people are MASSIVELY confused by the whole PCN issue. How many times on here do people say "I've been fined..." when it isn't a fine at all.0 -

You assume that all people understand the process.
I cannot see that the price of a stamp is going to hurt these companies!
Keep the advice simple - just ignore the PCN's.0 -

Massively confused, if they actually read the stickies at the top of the forum they wouldent be confused, they wouldent need to post anything and my reply button should be set at
if private ignore if from council or police then scan image and post up.
As previous post what makes me laugh and entertain me is different from yours. What it achieves we will never be able to quantify but it makes meI all have learnt is from others on many sites.
