I am in a similar position to Cantgoon.

I replied to the Craig's List ad - I am a freelance writer. I realise now there is no article writing job and it's a scam, but it does seem suspiciously like obtaining money by false pretences as I wouldn't have tried to buy acai berries online in this way normally.

The poster was Joanne Berry of "desirablecontent". I have emailed her bu have, surprise surprise, received no reply.

BTW the site I got my product from acaislimplus.com which has a "Live chat" facility and I cancelled via that after a couple of days - and cut and pasted the transcript into a word doc as well as taking a screenshot. This should be cheaper than phoning all over the world.

AHH ive just wrang the number given here and got through straight away to a guy called "daniel" i too have become another member of this stupid scam..straight after i payed for the postage
i asked if i could cancell my orders and he asked my for ID my 1 4 and 8 card number written on my card a told them him and he typed them in, he then replied with are you (my name) and also gave me my email adress *i presume he was looking at my file on a database* after that i asked him are they cancelled and he said yes. i also asked if i could have a confirmation of this and he said it would be sent by email and that he cant give my a cancellation code...

what shall i do now??

Like an idiot i fell for the promises of losing weight, and sent for my free trial, having not read the terms and conditions i just thought that if i wanted anymore i would have to re-order. Not true, i have had four lots of £75 taken out of my account, the next two lots today - i have tried to cancel the order through email - like another person on here tried to phone and cant get through! The thing is my card was due to expire this month, as my replacement had already arrived i cut my old card up and have been using my new card for about 3 weeks. THEY CAN STILL PUT MONEY THROUGH ON YOUR CARD WHETHER ITS VALID IN DATE OR NOT !!!! I am going through a fraud thing with the bank at the moment trying to get it sorted although this will probably be another month before it is sorted and they will most likely try to take another payment! PLEASE BE WARNED - DONT END UP LIKE ME - BY THE WAY IT DOESNT WORK ANYWAY - SO FAR I HAVE LOST 4 STONE ON SLIMMING WORLD !!!!!

I ALWAYS check the net before I purchase something, why didnt I this time??? argghhh what a dope!

I've called up credit card company to dispute the two payments of £55.25 and £55.48 and she seemed to be very confident I had nothing to worry about. Is the problems with getting money back related to people paying via debit cards?

Wish they were in this country, i'd organise a nice coach trip to where they are based.

I got my cancellation number very quickly here - goto the live chat option (cant post link, if someone can pm me and offer to post it i can supply, ive not got enough posts)

be friendly and get confirmaiton (also use a screen recording software for further proof) send back anything you have received recorded delivery, cancel your cards and get any payments reversed.

oh and after you have your cancellation feel free to rant at them....or if you havent even been involved feel free to go onto this site regular to rant at them....i know i will be.
