Thankyou suep, bz, tinker and raeh for welcoming me.
It's not through the hospital that I meant. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I have trouble explaining myself so much lately! I meant the hospital fund, which is just like an insurance type thing. It's a lot cheaper than insurances and you can claim for glasses, dentists etc.. You pay for the treatment then claim it back from them. It sounds like you have a really good reflexologist to charge less and throw some in for free so maybe you wouldn't be any better off. As I say, I haven't checked it out yet, it was just a thought
I'm the same with feet so I'm not sure whether it would benefit me. I might get there then freak out when they touch my feet and lose my money for nothing!
I do know about the fibro site thankyou. I'm sorry, I can't remember who said what so please bear with me while I get used to you allI feel a little rude not addressing you by name with my replies. Yeah, I did know about it, it was just that I noticed a few people saying about doc's or rheumy's not taking them seriously and such so I wondered about starting a thread on good doc's but I suppose it would be a much more sensible idea to direct people who are having trouble to that site
I hope this finds you all well :beer:0 -
Welcome to mypet62 and kassandra
How very rude of me not to acknowledge you before!
Kassandra, stop apologising! No need for it on this thread. I think we should ban the sorry word as well as the g(uilty) word.
I've been very lucky with my GP who has been a fantastic support and has always taken me seriously. I think we all go through a period where we wonder if we're going mad and it's all in our minds. I'm also lucky with my Rheumy - although I won't say the same about his Registrars!!
There have been times I've been tempted to stop taking the steroids to see if the pains etc are really still there, but that would be be plain stoopid.
I'm a great believer of mind over matter and do everything I can to introduce laughter into my life.
Today I need to head off to Lush to get at least one grab bag as conveniently, I finished the last of last years supplied in the bath last night!
I've been waking up in the mornings for the last week or so with my arms wrapped round my head - the bed hair when I get up has to be seen to be believed!
Hope you all have a good day.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Woo Hoo! Jus got a letter from Rheumy to say that he's happy for me to go onto HRT! I know it's another tablet, but I've really been suffering. Great relief!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0

Hi everyone
It's great that everyone's helping and supporting each other, but we just need to remind you MoneySavingExpert's about support and MoneySaving but not about medical advice and treatment. Please be very careful what you say about your own treatments. While something may work for you, it may not for others.
Take care

Welcome Mypet its good that you can still work a bit, I worked as a care assistant in a rest home and had to give it up about 8 years ago, Ive tried to think of other jobs I could do as I would love to get back to work part time, but I doont think anyone would want to employ me as Id be off sick all the time
Kassandra, I agree with cwta we should ban the word sorry and guilty, we are all in the same boat so know what you mean about not being able to explain yourself, sometimes I read back on what Ive wrote here and think noone will be able to follow it but they usually do, well noone ever complains anyway :rotfl:
cwta I love Lush too but have got no chance of getting into town today, my legs wont work properly and theres noone around to take me in my wheelchair, I got quite a bit from there for xmas though so will make do with that for now. I love the way you can smell the shop right down the street.Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time.

Hi folks.
I hope you've all had a decent weekend and are OK today - I don't often get online at weekends, so I've been playing catchup and not taking in who said what.
Belated welcome to Mypet and Kassandra.:p
I'm flippin' cross today. About 11:30, I noticed some post had come. In it was a card saying they's called with a packet "too big to go through the letterbox" at 11:00. Well, they never even bothered to ring the doorbell. I reckon the postie saw the carport with no car in it and just assumed no-one was home.
I plucked up the courage to ring them (I'm phobic about phones) and they said to come to the sorting office and collect it. So I had to explain that Mr LW doesn't get home til after the sorting office closes, and without him here to help me, I'm housebound! GRRRRRR!! Anyway, they're going to deliver it tomorrow - I've told them to make sure the bloke rings the bell and waits for me to get to the door.
Sorry to rant, just needed to let off steam. Package is for Mr LW, and I suspect it's a book he's been waiting for, some I.T techie volume for his work.
Oh yes - was it Sue that had an abysmal time at the restaurant? I'd be writing a stiff letter of complaint to their Head Office if that was me.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
