i felt full of energy today so iv made cherry shortbread and wagon wheels, also done all the ironing and now im resting with a cup of coffee and warm biscuit

Blimey that's as much as I would get done in a good week!! It's nice when you feel full of energy like that isn't it.
I'm still in my sweat pants and top, but may venture out to get the Sunday papers. have to wait a bit as have taken one lot of tabs rather late and I get funny withdrawal symptoms as the old dose wears off and I don't like to drive when I feel like that. Just booked another theatre visit - matinee of a modern interpretation of Don Juan. Going to the theatre enriches my life so much.

The cherry shortbread sounds scrummy. Any chance of the recipe??

I went out with OH last night for DIl birthday meal at an American themed restuarant that is very popular around here, It was an absolute nightmare though and we will never go again. The table was booked for 7.30 but we didnt get seated for an hour so had to stand in the packed bar area with 20 month old g/d running around and getting in peoples way and me nearly passing out becuase I cant stand for more than a few mins, in the end I found some steps to sit on, then when we were eventually seated about 8.30 we placed our orders then had to wait until 9.45 for the food to arrive ! and then only becuase DILs Dad threatned that we would all walk out if we didnt get our food ! poor g/d was shattered. When the bill came they'd added a service charge which of course we all refused to pay after the 'service' we'd had, it turned into quite a row by then. We didnt get home until 11.00 and my back and rear end were sore from sitting on the hard wooden chairs, I just took my meds and went to bed, didnt wake up until 9.00 this morning.
I cant understand why the place is so popular

  • Good grief sue! What a nightmare - I hope at least the food was decent when it at last came!

BZ, has just ocurred to me - do you have a modem you can used to get online so you at least have a 56k connection before you get your broadband? You could prolly pick up a secomd hand one quite cheaply and sell it on when you've finished with it?

Just been very naughty and got a Cafe Nero panini for lunch.

Yes the food was ok, but I was so tired and sore by the time it came I'd lost my appetite. Ive been recovering on the sofa today with my heat pad.

A BIG hi and Thank you to you all. I have only just found this thread and i have not read it all as yet but i will. My doc diagnosed me nearly 3 years ago when i went to see her about a pain in my knee and some other pains which i had put down to old age!:rotfl: at 43! She told me off as its not old! I was being cheeky and doing it tongue in cheek. :rotfl: She checked me all over and asked if i had pain in various pains over my body etc, which i replied i did then she asked whether I had heard of Fibromyalgia to which i replied no. she then sat and explained it to me. It felt wonderful to have a name for it and to realise that the pains were not all in my head. I thought it was only me that had pain in my buttocks, face etc but after reading the posts on here i now know that i am not alone. :j My doc is amazed that i can smile/laugh/cry all at the same time when she knows that i am in real bad pain. Yes i have good days and bad days but i have learned to employ different tactics for different times. I am currently still working full time for which my employer makes allowances. Also my doc has helped me a lot in various ways. As my doc knows that by struggling into work helps to keep the deep bad depreesion at bay, so helps all that they can. Plus they know that when i am really really bad i will take the time off. I am a ''normal'' person who always has a smile and is cheeky by nature even when th going gets tough.
Thanks again. Now I know you are here i will try and pop in more.

Hi BZ hope you are ok ;) have a restful night

well done sharon for resting properly ;) il get the recipe and pm it to you for the wagon wheels,

sue thats just dreadful :( i dont think you should have been paying for the meal at all with service like that!! was it part of a chain that you could write a complaint to?? we have an american diner quite local to here that the kids love to go to for special occasions and the last time we went they were a little while bringing all the drinks over, only about 10/15 minutes but they gave them us all for free

CwtA that wasnt naughty buying a panini ;) it was sensible.. just think of the washing up time and effort you saved

hello and welcome to mypet :) i work part time as that and the kids are what keeps me sane ;) [have i ever been sane i hear the rest of you asking :p ]

i need an early n ight tonight as im tired out but it would be rude of me to go without checking the grabbits ;)

have a peaceful sleep everyone and a good day tomorrow xx

  • raeh, if you're going to Lush tomorrow, I can highly recommend the Porridge Soap - exfoliating and very moisturising.
Part of my MCTD is that I have very lumpy skin on areas of low circulation, such as legs and upper arms - looks like blocked pores - this is the only thing that makes a significant difference to the appearance.
