By the way, has anyone thought about sharing or maybe starting another thread on doctors.

What area you are in and what doctor have you found to be sympathetic and understanding about FM. That kind of thing. It may save others a lot of misery and time :D

I have been lucky recently. As I have said, I was just given a leaflet and left to it. I then moved countries and when I came back found there was a new partner at my practice. I don't like change (my doctor had known me since I was born!) but decided to go see her as a last ditch attempt before changing practices.

Am I glad I did. She introduced herself and asked me what she could do for me. I told her my story then she revealed she used to work for a rheumy who had a special interest in FM so she knew all about it :T

She has changed my meds slightly and told me to come back in two weeks with a pain diary. She also said she would refer me to the rheumy she worked for if that's what I wanted.

Yep, well, just thought i'd share again!!

Did you perhaps mean Trialia? :rotfl:

Tamaris? Lol... that's one I haven't been called before. Tri, Tria, Trin, Triz, Triala, Trilia... never Tamaris! That'll have to go on the list...

Welcome Kassandra and I forgot to say welcome to dolphins earlier as well sorry my heads all over the place tonight ;)
I have reflexology every 2-3 weeks, not through my hospital though I have to pay for it, but the lady who does it is very sweet and lets me pay a cheaper rate as I have been going to her for so long and she knows I dont work, also every couple of months she throws in a free treatment  I just find it very relaxing which helps with my headaches and sleep problems.

I was dx 12 years ago and had a similar experience as both of you, given the leaflet and sent on my way, but Ive found the most help online including a local support group which led me to making some really good friends who I meet up with weekly for lunch. The website that I found the support group from was www.ukfibromyalgia.com just incase you havnt found it yet, it is very good.

I used to have a good doctor but she left the practise, I dont often go now unless I really have to although my new doctor isnt bad, its just the effort of having to go out lol

    Ah, I see.

Very, very tired... I slept ten hours, but I kept waking up. And I have to continue filling out those cursed DLA reassessment forms today... they never give one enough space to explain all the symptoms of FMS, and given that I have atypical bipolar disorder as well which also needs explaining... oy! *facepalm*
