Welcome dolphins28. Someone just said the other day that laughter is the best medicine, and this thread provides that in abundance as well as mutual support and the ocassional nag when needed.
Sometimes we have to fight a bit to get the help and medical relief we need. Can you go back to the Rheumy and explain how things are for you? Or try another GP in your practice to see if they are more sympathetic?
In the meantime, just keep putting on foot in front of the other. I hope the day shines on you.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
wanted to welcome you Dolphin28-we all understand your frustation.I had a similar experience with my rheumy -once he ruled out everything else he said basically goodbye and have you heard of fibro well hers a leaflet and your discharged!FELT SO ALONE.Did rounds of my gp practice till found one who has immense understanding of fibro and is caring as well.
As CWTA suggests try them out-or ring practice manager and ask.
We here are a good bunch and happy to share a laugh or a moan -sounds like you are juggling lots of balls in the air and it must be hard doing it as a single mum. However lm so impressed by how positive you are and that is what you need to manage this miserable illness. You must also be kind to yourself-if your being too tough on yourself we will be along to tell you off!
Welcome hugs and join in!:j this money saving is such fun:T0 -

Hi everyone, sorry I didn't post yesterday. I did a few posts elsewhere but didn't get to this thread cos my eyes gave out on me - suddenly couldn't focus on the screen.:(
Welcome Dolphins28.:hello:
CwtA, I love the boots! I keep wearing my old faithful Goblin Kickers which are seven years old now, and getting a tad tatty, but they're comfortable.
I hope everyone's having a reasonably good day today; I'm tired, as I went to a Mensa meeting last night, and I've got to go out again tonight (Mr LW is meeting an old pal at the pub, and wants me to go with him) so I'm taking it easy today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Guy's, it is my friend who had FM's Bday in may and as she preffers the chat site thing more than forum, i am thinking of making her one up, if i was to do this would some of you join up and help me get the community going before her birthday in may ?If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.0

...I'm a single mum with a 5 year old so I have to work to pay the mortgage and bills but like many MSE-ers have reduced income - 6 years ago I was on £19k, these days I'm lucky to clear 1/6 of that. ...
As for your income...I understand the need to work, whether financially or for mental/emotional stability, but if you're not pulling in what you might be able to get from benefits while recovering/learning to manage your condition better, then might it be worth a kind of period of convalescence?
I woke up about 3pm today and I'm STARVING! If only food would just magically appear next to me and I didn't have to get out of bed  I had the fright of my life before, I'm sure you lot'll understand why.... I turned on my laptop...to a black screen of death!! It didn't wanna know! And then when I tried again it said it was trying to repair it but couldn't! Thankfully, 3rd time lucky...PHEWF! :j I'm gonna run some antivirus programmes and clean up the harddrive a bit I think...just in case!
I should probably be dealing with housey stuff...but tbh I can't be @rsed. I did work out though that my Virgin tele box could be picked up from MIL2B's (as they won't pick up from a non-Virgin house, and my new one won't be, so the awkward sods wanted to pick up from the soon to be old uninhabited house :rolleyes). I shall ring them to rearrange...if I can be bothered "I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
TBH, I'm glad we're learning more about FMS as time goes on - it gives me hope that someday I might go back to not being in pain anymoreHomosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0
