Hi all,
Just popped in to say "hi", nice to see so many newbies too:T.
For the knitters amongst us - are any others members of http://www.ravelry.com/ ? If not it is a brilliant resource, some lovely patternsand in addition one of the members of the knitting thread has started a group on Ravelry for MSE members http://www.ravelry.com/groups/mse-ravelry
Sorry to hear so many friends on here aren't feeling well and hope you are all feeling better soon - Suep - I owe you an e-mail, LW I hope you are scaling the walls of the infernal pit, they are ever so slippery so take care. Sharon I hope you are recovering from your slip and BZ - I agree with CWTA - I can only speak from experience, but having my tonsils out at 27 was the best day's work I ever did. I was very lucky if I managed four weeks between attacks (that had me vomiting up pus throughout the night) and despite already having ME/fibro symptoms at that time, the recovery wasn't as bad as I anticipated. I was eating bacon butties (the nurse woke me up with these:rolleyes: and a cuppa) the same day. I did get a secondary infection and had to have one of the stitches taken out manually - I defy anyone to manage this without gagging , but since then I have been much better and only get the occasional sore throat - but none of those horrible infected blisters that used to close my throat right up and stop me from speaking. Love the dress BTW especially the detail on the train.
Raeh how are you feeling? Are you coping well with work since you went back after Crimbo?
And finally - loved all the witchy pics - there's more of us about than I thought.
Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Hi Raeh,
I've managed to decrease the pain patches again, thank goodness - the itching was driving me mad, not to mention craving sweet things, so back to relying on the TENS and the Pain 2000 unit. One of the bulging discs must be affecting my bladder again as I have been up every half hour (I kid you not:o) over the past two nights. It must be worse when I'm lying down as it doesn't affect me during the day. Other than that - I am quite enthusiastic about my burst of creativity where the knitting is concerned. Well - it's something I can do to distract from the pain. If I stop, I feel the depression lurking in the wings and I don't want it to hit centre stage and start singing 'Nessun Dorma' :rotfl:
We managed to get out yesterday to see 'The Wrestler' at the cinema. It's not normally the sort of film I'd pick to go and see, but having seen the trailer last week we just had to go. I'm glad we did as it was brilliant!
I have never been on the 'Grabbit' section - but may have a look later. I'm worried because it sounds addictiveand I am trying to de-clutter at present;). I gave up on competitions about a year ago - we used to be members of one of these sites where they send a weekly e-mail with all the comps and prize draws, but never won anything really worthwhile - Avon make-up and small things like books that we didn't really want anyway, but no sign of the elusive car/holiday/villa in Crete
.
Must get on with getting the house put straight - just had new carpets laid and DD2 and DS are here for the weekend so it might be nice if they can actually get into their rooms to sleep. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Ouch Sharon I do hope your feeling a bit better today, although I dont suppose sleeping on the sofa would have helped much, I hope you've got a downstairs loo. I've got a stairlift which is just as well as we havn't got a downstairs loo.
I used to have a/b on repeat when the dr thought I was having repeated bouts of cystitis but after seeing a Uro last year I was dx with interstitial cystitis ( inflammation of the bladder wall) and the a/b probably made it worse.
Im laid up on the sofa covered in heat patches and wheat bags today as I had little grandson for the day yesterday, it was worth every twinge though so Im not complaining
Unity dont worry about the email, I know your busy, we will catch up soon.
I hope everyones having a good day and that poor BZ gets well soon.

Raeh, I feel guilty for not specifically asking how you were now. You should tell us all when you're struggling - we don't know otherwise and just assume things are "normal". Hugs to ya.
Sharon, you made me laugh with the tea. Reminded me of when I went to stay with Sis many years ago and I was feeling a bit under par. Her son, who is autistic, wanted to play and she told him that I wasn't well. He led me upstairs to his bedroom, put me in his bed and tucked me in, sat next to me stroking my head and feeding me pretend pink medicine (Calpol). Bless his ickle cotton socks.
Unity, have you told the medics about the benefits of knitting as a form of depression treatment??!! I know what you mean though - you can't think too much when you're knitting/cooking etc.
Well done on the patches.
sharon, I hope you're taking things nice and slowly whilst you recover. You too sue!
BZ, hope you're starting to feel a little better. Take things easy for a while eh?
I told my Dad I was "too tired" to see him today. Not really a lie as it meant I could have a bit of a lie in and catch up on some sleep.
I was aware that review of IB was looming over me and I got the questionnaire in the post today. Trouble is, now having to fill in that will put me off the DLA form again.
*sigh*
I think I'll just get this one done and out of the way as quickly as possible and fingers crossed that I don't have to have a medical.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Hi,
I am new to all this so hello!!!
I have been diagnosed with FM a few years ago after having an accident at work, I suffer with all the conditions i have read about on here, the constant pain, tiredness etc.
My doctor has been brilliant and supportive and last month after a really bad flare up referred me to a rheumatology clinic for guidance as he didnt know what else to do with me.
The rheumatologist has now decided i do not have FM but have a lot of seperate conditions ranginf from spondolysis (not sure if that spelt right) to back issues and something i cant quite remember affecting my hips that could resukt in injections. He completely ignored the symptoms such as tiredness and more recently when under a lot of stress at work severe bouts of confusion and absent midedness!!! When i raised this with him he advised it was a hangover affect from my tablets and nothing more!!!
Can anyone give me some help or guidance on what to do next !!!!
Thanks

aww thank you, but please dont use that word :rotfl: i do say when things arent great but to tell the truth struggling IS 'normal' isnt it for most of us? i prefer to tell you what iv found in the grabbits
good on you for having a lie inand good luck with the forms
unity thats great with the knittingi suppose i do the same thing on here? reading the threads and entering the comps, i dont think about other things whilst im occupied .. well until i try to get off the sofa and iv seized :rotfl: im glad you enjoyed the film, we were wondering whether to go and see it but then again i usually sleep through whatever we are watching anyway
sharon and sue i hope you are both feeling better today?and bz are you resting and making sure you recover before trying any more packing or wedding planning? LW i hope your day is ok today
hi N4T4L1E [that was hard to type lol] welcome to the threadi cant really give you any guidance as so many symptoms overlap with fms and other illnesses and with fms we seem to have other illnesses around it? not just that? all i can say is if you arent happy about the dx then maybe speak to your gp again as he was the one that originally dx. the main thing they looked for when i was dx was the pain pressure points, they didnt say much about the tiredness and brainfogs. Im sure someon e else will have better advice than me lol
time for me to now go and fetch ds2 and as i havent had a nap this afternoon i will be falling asleep later whilst he watches spongebob:rolleyes:
see you all later xx2009-£7500 2010 £10800 2011 £2000

I got a receipe last night for Menopause Cake - I kid you not.
It's got Soya Flour, Linseed and all good healthy things in it. A couple of people I've mentioned igt to have said it's delicious anyway.
So, off I trot to Tescos and Health Food shop to get ingredients - nearly £30! Still, now I've stocked up on the bits and pieces, I can make cakes to my hearts delight. It's my fave sort of baking - mix all ingredients together, leave to soak for an hour and then bake *grin*
PM me if any of you want the recipe.
However, it's now 3.50pm and my body doesn't operate after it gets dark, so I feel like I've achieved nothing today which is frustrating.
I'm toying with the idea of going to see a psychic show at the theatre next Friday. Sally someone - psychic to the stars. Tickets are cheap, but I can't decide whether I'll just feel disappointed that I spent the money on it later on.
any thoughts??
p.s. I would view it as "entertainment".I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
il pass on the cake thanks and just have a bar of choccie
hope it works though costing that much
i would go for the night outif its not costing much and its entertainment then why not
as long as you know how you would view it then it could be fun? i have a couple of friends who believe wholely in the spiritual world and my uncle goes to a spiritualist church but for me it would be a case of a fun and amusing night out
makes me think of doris stokes, i read her books
back from school, kids are fed and on consoles, animals asleep, im wondering whether a nap would be best or just keep myself going and check grabbits or the comps :rotfl:2009-£7500 2010 £10800 2011 £2000
