bz - IKWYM! I am still trying to shift a nasty cold I was given over the holidays, and I want it gone by the time choir rehearsals resume, but it seems to be clogging my throat. *glares at cold virus*

Also, I totally have no problem with those guesses about Mary, because tbh, you should see her figure... even after having had two kids, she's still... *grin* Anyway, I'd kill to look like that now, let alone when I'm closing in on 60...

Energy, energy, must stock up on that. Got the convention in under 3 weeks and I'm going to Germany (yay for cheap flights) at the end of February...

  • I also have Fibro - was diagnosed 5 years ago. Now work 3 days a week as a teacher, cannot manage full time. Am also a single mum so that keeps me busy as well. Have been through some rough times and my marriage broke down as my ex "could not cope with seeing me in pain", a statement which I now find amusing ;-) Have become a stronger person and have learnt to pace myself, have even been known to say "No" to requests for my time and energy when needed!

welcome to our club Clarabella -sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy!Saying NO is soooo hard at times isnt it-especially as we tend to look ok and l am a sucker for a sob story like most of us!!I have not quite got the hang of pacing -l tend to have a mad burst when l feel okish and suffer after but sometimes it feels worth it to have a slightly normal time or do something l love -big example is going to the Needlecraft show in Olympia every spring -its a long day from south wales and l suffer for days but its highlight of my year so worth it to me.
Keep posting -we are here for the good and bad times.

Thanks for the encouragement, folks. CwtA yes I am on anti-depressants - have been for the last 37 years! I'm on the maximum dose of the last-ditch ones available to me. When these stop working..... well, let's just say it doesn't bear thinking about.

I think I know what's caused this - started my period yesterday. 100 days since the last one.:eek::eek: (Sorry if TMI).

Welcome to the newbies who've joined us while I've been AWOL.

Sharon I've never got the hang of pacing myself. I keep promising myself I'll do better, then I get a good-ish day, go at everything like a bull at a gate (well, OK, a very small calf) and regret it for the next week.

Clarabella yes, I had the "can't cope with seeing you ill" bit from my first husband. When he then went on to say "if you want to commit suicide, go ahead" I decided enough was enough, and divorced him.

Right, time for me to start gathering my energy to get a cheese roll for lunch.:p

Ugh. It's grim. And worse, it stopped me sleeping in! I need to be well enough to go look at the wedding dress I saw last week tomorrow :( I had sinusitis 18months ago that put me in bed for 2months so I'm a tad paranoid now...

I also might have to start maiming.... :rotfl:

    Welcome Clarabella
When my brain is functioning again I'll try and say something helpful... ;)

LameWolf I came to the conclusion that there's no such thing as TMI on here some time ago! :rotfl: 100 days off...what's that about?? (dare I ask! ;)) Oh and while you're in the kitchen, make me one too will ya? :D

Sharon my only version of pacing appears to be a) doing ball all, or b) getting OH to do everything...so revert to option a! :p

Hello people. I am mainly a lurker (I've got, oh, one post on this thread). Having a bad fortnight where I want to quit my job and hide under a duvet. Not that that's an option.

Pacing. Ah yes. That concept that takes no account of a boss who wants something done and wants it done now. Not always easy to say 'I'm sorry, but I've exceeded my energy expenditure allotted for today'.

Somebody please tell me to get a move on with my DLA form. I get nauseous every time I look at the envelope...

LameWolf, I don't want to do the granny/sucking eggs thing, but have you explored other avenues to help alleviate depression? Talking therapies/hypnitherapy etc?
Can I ask if you're Unipolar or bipolar? My Sis always says she wishes she was Bipolar rathe than Unipolar as she would get so much done when she was in a manic episode
p.s. I'm sorry, but your OH sounds ********!!!!

And I'll have a little salad cream on my roll please :D

BZ, you do make me laugh, sweetie. I'll have to remember your a) and b) options ;)

Hi to clarabella. stick around, we vent and also have quite a good time on here.

Trialia, you say in your sig that you're british, but you have an American turn of phrase - are you from foreign parts?

OK, another 20 mins drinking tea and generally wasting time surfing and then I have to tackle the ironing pile - if I can get to the top without suffering altitude sickness that is.
