Sorry you've had a bad night s/e. It's a bummer when you know you still need the sleep, but can't get it.
I think my mood last night was probably about me feeling overwhelmed by everything at the moment. TBH, I'll be glad when today is over and I can have a long sleep and a restful day tomorrow and potter on my own time.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

I've got titanium in my brain. Beat that!
Go easy - when the juice runs out you're liable to get a nasty rebound.
It does indeed make a difference if you are left or right handed. I managed to learn with great difficulty, but now knit and follow patterns (more importantly;)) using the r/h method. Knitting keeps me sane - but nearly went insane at the weekend. Got the pattern and wool, checked the tension, knitted the two fronts and back of a jacket and realised it was huge! Instead of 38/40 it was 60 inch bust :eek::eek:. I'm a regular at the wool shop, so I rang and told them, just so they could warn anyone else as the pattern also grossly underestimated the amount of yarn needed. They did offer to send it off to the manufacturer of the wool, but I said I'd rather pull it out and start over. That was a task and a half, but I have now got one of the fronts re-done in the smallest size and it looks like it might work. May have to revise my opinion and start saying that knitting keeps me in-sane.

Blimey that sounds like hard work Unity! I'm not sure I'm up for that!

I'd forgotten to reverse the instructions to take into account the fact that I was starting from the other direction. Doh!s/e0 -
My Mum spent years crocheting an intricate bedspread. Very like the french lace crocheting. It weighed a ton when she'd finished and we used to tease her that if she left it to us in her will we would disown her.
I've had an early lunch and full-fat coffee - none of my usual unleaded stuff - and I'm set for the hard work of today.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Hi folks,
I'm back after a weird weekend. Did far and away too much on Saturday, then spent yesterday flaked out on the sofa, not even able to get to the bathroom for a pee without husband's help. Can't get the hang of pacing myself at all.
All I've done today is decorate the Yule cake. S*d the housework, it'll still be there tomorrow. Or Wednesday......
I hope everyone's feeling as well as poss today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Im a left hander and everyone gave up on teaching me to knit except my nan and she did it by having me stand behind her and l learnt that way although lm not brilliant at it!
spooky but as lm writing this the tv is on and thay are talking about war evacuees and Michael Aspel was standing outside the very station in London where she lived and where as a girl l learnt to knit during wonderful summer holidays staying with her and my grandad.Had a little cry at the memories!:j this money saving is such fun:T0 -
Ahhhhhhhh! I hate knitting neckbands. I wish I'd worked out how to knit backwards as well. It's such a fiddly job ribbing 9 stitches. I've been at it for what seems like hours, and I've still got just under half of it to do.s/e0

I'd love to think I could or had knitted something I actually liked, but I've given up on that idea tbh. I find with a lot of crafts that buying all the stuff to make something costs more than buying them readymade in the first place... I know it's not like that once you've got the gear and know what you're doing, but still...
I'm pooped. Started the day by going to the opticians for a (free) eye test. I'm glad it's done but it really strained my eye muscles and knackered me more than it should've done.Got the last of the Christmas presents required, so I can relax once I've wrapped them (blagged some free bubble wrap for mother's vase from under the apples in Asda). Just need a little something something for OH.
I am, of course, now pooped but hey.
Out tonight and OH wants me to cut his hair before that, so I'll probably only be back in tomorrow."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0
