  • S/e Iron is really good in performance, but some niggles with design. They do cost upwards of £90 though! I only had to pay P&P of £20 for mine luckily.
Just wondering about logistics of posting you my old one - Bosch, perhaps a year old?
Don't worry about CwtA. I'm rather partial to Rowenta personally. I like the Teflon* coated sole plate, and it's about the right weight for me to cope with.
And I have lunch when I'm hungry! *grin* Sometime around 8ish. My eating pattern is as screwed up as my sleeping.
I've been known to have lunch at 11.00 am if that's when I'm hungry. I learned a while ago that if I didn't eat when I was hungry, I'd lose my appetite and it'd be hours before I could face food again.
p'd off as after 4 visits my dishwasher still isn't working. No leak anymore, but that seems to be because I now have no water to it or the washing machine. And I'm heartily sick and tired of the whole saga.
If you've got water in your cold tap, it sounds like an isolation switch that need turning on again. It shouldn't require much by way of strength to do that yourself - although I'd certainly have a major whinge at the plumber for not sorting it out before he left. Do you get charged for these visits or your landlord/landlord's agency? If it's not you who gets charged I'd be tempted to call him out again.
[Right, off to do Xmas cards.
Please, don't mention the C word. I've not even started yet.
[p.s. I always called Blair "Smiling Lad".
Never trust someone who smiles that much - they're hiding something.

Erm... if you don't have lunch 'til gone 3, what time do you end up having dinner?
Um... Miss.... I still haven't had lunch. :o

Glad you're relatively ok s/e and Raeh. Try not to be too naughty so you end up even worse than you already were.

I managed to wrap up all the presents I had stored in the house somewhere, I just have a vase for my mum at OH's house, and to buy some faux aftershave and shuttlecocks for a friend and make a bracelet for OH and I'll be done. Phewf. Hoarding regiftables and bargains along the way really does pay off! Yay! :j

Now...what shall I have for "lunch"? I nearly picked up some chinese on the way home from dropping OH off at work, but talked myself out of it...so what shall I actually have?

Ditto. Except I can't normally find food I fancy when I'm actually hungry...and by the time I have, it's too late. And when I'm hungry again, I usually want something completely different!
I'm finding that I'm colder (and therefore achier) when I've not eaten too, weirdly enough.

My nails are still snapping and snagging. It's starting to do my head in. I'm (almost) sure it's something to do with the Lyrica/pregabalin as I never had a problem with them before I started taking it a few weeks ago...?

I feel for you dude. I however don't do Christmas cards. I told OH today that I would need to steal two cards of his mum so I could send them from us to my aunt (who sent one to both of us and it's a long story) and to his distant cousin type people who contacted us about the family tree persuit and we've still been ignorant enough to not go round or contact them since (oops! :o). Other than that, everyone else will have to suffer without the killed trees in their living rooms. :D;)

And CWTA, good show on the cleaner type bod. Think you can find one of those for me?

(P.s. Cwta: Nadine Baggot is the work of the devil. Pentapeptides my @rse!)

    Do you have breakfast, zippy?

I can't face food when I get up, so my lunch is effectively my breakfast - I very rarely eat more than 2 meals a day. If you're not having breakfast either could I very gently suggest that you might feel a bit better if you ate a bit more regularly?

I had breakfast today. Oh made me some toast with chocolate spread on :D
I can't face food for about an hour after I've woken up. Waking up unusually early makes me feel really ill/sick too.

Mmm...I may be able to shove a pizza in the oven from the freezer... I'll have tea (your dinner) when OH finishes work about 11ish and then get to sleep about 2/3am. This should all be shifted back a few hours when he's workign a proper 9-5 job from January though :)

  • Can't abide the idea of brekkie meself. I find if I don't eat when I'm hungry, I start to feel really sick and shaky.
I also can't eat a lot in one go. I can't manage a whole sarnie, but normally manage half of one for lunch.
For dinner, the sight of a whole plate full of food is too much for me and I don't even want to start it, so I have a smallish dinner and then snack to fill up if I need it.

BZ, I think you should go back and get the Chinese *grin*

S/E, the isolation switch is behind the washing machine and I can't reach it. Have already pulled neck again trying to see what the prob is. Plumber tried to charge me £45 last time to rectify his mistake and I told him to whistle for it unless he wanted a claim on his insurance for the flood damage.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

  • Sorry if I came over a bit bossy. Frozen pizza for dinner (tea and lunch is good too) sounds fine to me. I always keep a couple in the freezer for when I'm too tired to cook, but too hungry for just a couple of slices of toast.

    Got biryani for dinner tonight.

Can anyone tell me what test Dr's can do to find out if I have FM please?
I have an underactive thyroid and although my blood test says I'm ok my body doesn't agree.
I still have all the symptoms and I think my Dr has made a 'note' on his PC that I am a 'nutter', because when I saw a locum last week he looked at the screen and sort of treated me like one!
I am constantly tired but when I go to bed at night can't sleep, my hair is falling out, terrible pains in my back, across my shoulders and generally exhausted during the day, can't sleep at night and just feel ill all the time. My body feels heavy and constantly in pain or aching.
I am having trouble losing weight on Slimming World diet, even though I stick to it like glue.
I know this is NOT normal, but am fed up with being treated like an idiot at the DR's and trying to self diagnose.
I don't want it, but might it be FM???
    LL

    Hello LL,

If I can just echo Suep - I too was diagnosed by a rheumatologist with both FMS and CFS, but the FMS was dxd with the trigger/tenderpoint test. I did meet a woman on the Procaine Infusion ward who had a positive blood test done privately and I think it involved her having to send her blood to New Zealand. Evidently people with FMS will have wrongly shaped platelets. I can't remember which it is , but if normal folk have concave shaped platelets then those with fibro will have convex - or vice versa.

I just did a quick search and found the following which might be of help: http://www.fms-help.com/lab.htm, but I don't think it is the same test as this one is looking for anti-polymer antibodies in human serum, but it might help you to get a diagnosis.

I was even tested for Lyme disease as I started feeling ill with flu-like symptoms after a holiday which involved walking on Exmoor where I had been bitten by some sort of tick. Unfortunately the blood test ( which was supposed to be sent away to a specialist lab) either went astray or the result went astray - I can't remember which - but it's the story of my life .

Hope this helps and welcome to our merry band :D.

I can be the same. I'm always picking. I will eat a whole meal, but I end up feeling really uncomfortably full afterwards  I just wish I could have constant (free!) room service to bring me prepared fresh food whenever I'm hungry!

No not bossy. Just gently suggesting :) Don't worry about it, I'm not! I know I should have a more routined eating schedule. And I look forward to the day when I have a more scheduled routine, 9-5 working hubby, house with a kitchen that isn't accruing frost at an almost greater rate than outside (I actually have to heat my plates in the mic before I put food on them or it just turns the food stone cold immediately )....ahh I dream of the day...
