Careful_with_that_Axe wrote: »Task I must do, and I know I'll end up hurting myself is moving a full size freezer from the hallway into the bedroom. It's been in the hall for nearly 5 weeks and you have to sidle round it to get to either the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom or washing machine/dishwasher cupboard. Am heartily sick of it so it must move.
It just brings to mind a time I tried to turn the matress on the bed over and ended up wedged in a corner unable to get up. Exhausted myself from laughing not from the effort of trying to move! :rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Lamewolf, it's OK. I think the only damage that will be incurred will be a bruised foot from where I kick it in frustration at not being able to shift it!
I sometimes sit back and think what would you say to other people who told you they would be trying to do this?!
I'll wait til neighbours daughter is home from school and see if we can do it between the three of us.
Thanks.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Hi folks. Just read through your efforts from the day and now can't think what I was actually going to say about any of it...Pcl wrote:and getting dla entitles you to other things such as disability allowance on income support/incapacity.
I'm now pregabalined up and found the blister pack I was missing at BIL's. I counted up from the day I started it and surprise surpise the only one I'd taken in the morning was the first morning! No wonder I've not felt as sleepy since I first started taking it! It does annoy me that seemingly all the meds they give me to try and manage the symptoms seem to makeme more out of it or sleepy than I already am with the conditions. Surely they can manage one without making another worse? You'd think.
Anyway... I'm home, but not for long . OH was supposed to start work today at 4pm so was going to take his mother for a blood test first. Cue call from work to start early as she still hasn't given him any hours for tomorrow  so he needs to work some more hours to make his pay up (Grrr). Does mean that he gets tomorrow off though, so hoping he'll head my advice and trawl the agencies for temp work til his new job in Jan. (Don't think the one he got interviewed for this week is really gonna be the best thing for him atm) ...but I digress. So in absence of her DS, step in DD-I-L. So I dutifully rang her to see if she still wanted to go for her blood test and I'd take her. She said no... BUT she did want a 10min trip to Asda.I offered to take a list of what she wanted and go myself, but nooooo she wants me to *take* her. Bear in mind that the lady pretty much needs a wheelchair for anything other than getting around the house, and is blind as a bat (about 3/4 blind now) so she can't use an electric wheelchair/cart, so cue dutiful DIL2B who has enough probs getting herself round Asda, nevermind pushing a heavily laden wheelchair. She already wants a trip to B&Q to buy her friend a plantpot for Chrimbo so maybe I should do it all at the same time and hope everyone leaves me alone for a while...?
Not ignoring anyones posts or questions, but I've forgotten em all now! Sorry guys, not been very helpful the last few days."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
You aren't normally helpful BZ, so don't worry about not being helpful this time.
Seriously, is it possible you are overdoing it a tad? You have been wizzing round the country helping various people out and sorting out a car for yourself. Take some time out for yourself or your health may pay you back with a bite on the bum.
Can you treat yourself to sommat nice? A hair cut or just wash and dry? Or a big sticky, sicky, calorific choccie cake that's all yours.
i discovered that the trick to taking a challenging person shopping is not to expect to try to get any of your own shopping done. At least it's only Asdas and B&Q not 27 shops to compare prices before you back to the first one where it's 1p cheaper despite you having used a tankful of petrol.
I resorted to some Ami about an hour ago and so am getting snoozy too. Given being woken up at stoopid o'clock as well, I'll have an earlyish night tonight.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
possibly bz, its called a disability premium or something, im sure there used to be another one to that you get if noone claims carers allowance, and i think it is linked to the care element of dla ...i cant seem to find any info about it now though.
might be worth ringing cab or somewhere and asking them to check you are getting everything you are entitled to? or your google fu might be better than mine today.0 -
oh here you go this explains them

and good luck with the shopping, and then listen to careful and treat yourself and rest tomorrow.
careful did the freezer get moved?0 -
Nearly sorted, we had a quick trip to Primark where I bought some really thick socks - 2 pairs for £2, so I got four pairs. The colours are a bit bright, various pink stripes and pink Fairisle pattern but inside hiking boots who will know? Not that the hiking boots have ever been worn - but I don't want to ruin my MBT's as I live in them. The hiking boots were very MSE too - they are children's - so no VAT and I got them in a sale to boot (pun intended
).
I am now going to reheat the other half of last night's Chinese take-away - so no cooking tonight and I've already assembled stuff I'm likely to need including camera, binoculars, woolly hat, gloves, all medication, contact lens, specs, mooncup and puffer thing to get the condensation out of my hearing aid- if you hear someone shouting 'Houston we have a problem', it's probably me:rotfl:. It's like a military campaign and we'll be back by Monday.
I will be thinking of you all, in fact I may even check if there's a free connection at Center Parcs and take the laptop .
Love,

Yee hee! Another mooncup user! How many times has yours frisbee'd out of your hands (yes, hands *grin*) across the bathroom floor to end up behind the laundry basket?
Yes thanks, I did get the freezer moved, it's now at the bottom of the bed until I can clear an ickle space for it under the window.
Ooh John Barrowman on TV, scuse me whilst I undress and melt into a puddle:rolleyes:

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out when my brain's in useful mode again.
MIL2B's just rung to see when I'm gonna get there... she's run out of fags etc... she didn't pick up on the hint of just getting a list off her and going without her... hopefully the penny'll drop by the time I get there
It's Grey's Anatomy tonight and I don't wanna miss it but I feel a bit harsh leaving her there alone whilst I come home just to watch GA... esp when we could just have one lot of heating on and one lot of tea cooked. Plus she is still recovering from the cataract op. Bang goes my theraputic shower and straightening my hair properly etc. I'll have to brave Asda with minging greasy hair and stinkiness...do it later.
Unity have a great time this weekend. Chill out and relax and enjoy the company.I'd love a trip to Primark but the mere idea of the heaving crowds and massive floorspace freak me out atm.
