She said that it was normally part of the criteria for care awarded to those who were mentally ill, but I qualified. I don't know if she meant I qualified as being mentally ill or not though? And I mean no disrespect to anyone who has mental problems - it's at least one in three these days so if it isn't S/E or CWTT - it must bluddy well be me:eek:.s/e0

erm mines awarded on mental health grounds so does that let you all of the hook?0

I really don't believe the similarities sometimes . I won a competition some years ago with the slogan "My life is like a soap opera , but without the commercial breaks!" :rotfl:
It never ceases to amaze me how banks can take so long over things like this. But then why is it when you transfer money from your account, it goes out immediately - yet when money is transferred to your account it takes three days?;) Let's face it, we all know that the click of a button is all it takes these days for information to travel instantaneously - yet banks still perpetrate this myth of three working days!
Mind you I despise hospitals for just the same sort of tomfoolery (that's going to be my word for the day:D) trying to make folk believe that mobile phones interfere with their machinery - purely because those bedside phones cost 40p per minute:eek:. Hell if they are going to start allowing the use on aircraft - I think the local hospital's computers should be safe. I mean I would have thought it would be illegal to have mobile phones that weren't fitted with the necessary suppressing equipment under something like the interference with broadcasting regulations.
I could stay here all day - but we're away for a family weekend at CenterParcs from tomorrow so I'd better get a shift on:eek:.
Love you and leave you,
Unity

Have a good weekend, Unity, and I hope you come back feeling refreshed. [Some hope. Ed.]s/e0

thanks s/e
have a good weekend unity
the mobile phones in hospitals.....they can (or could a 5 years ago when i was still working) interfere with things like ventilators, they were a complete no do not dare turn on near theatres, icu, and a&e but less of a problem in non critcal care units.
the signs are up everywhere because they cant suddenly let everyone know that now they need turned off if they have to bring out the emergency equipment suddenly. its also impossible to ensure people turn them off near critcal areas, so a blanket ban is easier.0 -
Hi everyone.
Unity, I hope you have a great weekend.
Re mental health issues - is there room on the hook for me? When I was given medical retirement, both physical and mental health problems were listed on the form.
CwtA - bummer re the fraudulent activity on your credit card. You have to have eyes up your backside these days; I'm always checking recent transactions online. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Have a fantasic weekend Unity.
I think tomfoolery is a very elegant and excellent word for the day. I'm sure can slip it into conversations somewhere.
Luckily, I was on the phone to credit card people to sort out a mistake they made and decided to check on-line statement and the fraudulent transations are still pending.
Card only has £500 balance and I pay it off in full each month as interest charges are punitive.
I was just thinking of the scenario where someone swipes thousands on your card and, whilst they are sorting out dispute, you have to make a monthly payment!
I'm afraid I'm one of those sad old gits that enjoys the challenge of figures and I reconcile my bank statement every month. I can hear, what you're thinking now you know!
However, once that is done, the statement gets tossed over my shoulder instread of filed neatly away.
Came back from town today with no gadgets, so that's a plus. Found an easy recipe for celeriac and leek soup that I may start and finish making tomorrow.
Task I must do, and I know I'll end up hurting myself is moving a full size freezer from the hallway into the bedroom. It's been in the hall for nearly 5 weeks and you have to sidle round it to get to either the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom or washing machine/dishwasher cupboard. Am heartily sick of it so it must move.
It just brings to mind a time I tried to turn the matress on the bed over and ended up wedged in a corner unable to get up. Exhausted myself from laughing not from the effort of trying to move! :rotfl:I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0
