Site fast connection - threads really s l o w....

I had to give up using IExplorer V8 because the search feature doesn't work with it on MSE at all, (it doesn't pop up allowing me to type a word), I now only use Firefox as it seems no problems other than speed.

I don't have any issues with other sites (apart from the usual untidy sites), the bugbear for me on MSE is the refresh, I literally have to click it a few times in order to catch it (seems to be a time out issue on MSE), once it finds the refreshed page, its pretty rapid, but it takes a while (about a minute), before it sprouts back to life.

Replying or quoting to a poster also seems to take ages, although its not a timing issue with the button, its just the time it takes to refresh itself. Cut short, it seems to be a refresh issue more than anything else.

BT Ayntime dial up speed is 44 kb page takes about 1 minutes on a good day, but now wth this slowness it's taking sometimes 20 minutes if at all..

me thinks it,s a server prob as pinging the ip from here shows the last 2 hops as timing out!!

Cumbria,o2, 8meg.......... It has been a lot slower than this though . Its a real pain in the botty lately...:D

I am on Sky BB connected at 2752kbps and usually takes 40 seconds to load a page, sometimes longer

Struggling here as well on Virgin 8 Meg broadband (only really getting around 1 meg though). No other site apart from MSE is affected. It is quicker during the early hours of the morning, starts to slow down late morning and very often dies on me in the evening.

For the past few days I have not really been able to use the site at all after about 5.30 as it is so slow I have forgotton what I want to say by the time I get a 'reply' box open.

AS an update its slowing quicker for me today, I'm already at about 20 seconds per page reload time.
