It's been pretty chronic all day, presumably as the email went out today. It's no fun trying to post at the moment“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

i had probs yesterday-but it was wednesday.really fast in IE except when accessing threads-which is annoying cos i use firefox and it was only the other nite after somebody had posted that i tried out IE.using firefox it's been slow for me all this week and majority of last week-before that the site wouldn't let me post which was frustrating cos i couldn't even pass on a message to admin.sending emails got me nowhere as all i got back were automated messsages.still having the problem ( i posted the other day) in IE when i've clicked to submit post it is really slow and i get the message back

Unbearably slow. There's little point in visiting at these speeds. I hope you guys get it fixed soon because if others are like me they're going to stop visiting if it takes 5 minutes to get into a thread.0

The past week the threads have pretty much ground to a halt, its going sooo slow, the refresh button has to be clicked 3-4 times for it to refresh, the threads just grind to the point you feel like giving in, are these issues still prevalent??:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

unbelievably slow again today, what is wrong?
It's so slow getting into threads that it's virtually unusable. :mad:0 -
I agree it's a real pain in the b*m. Trouble is every now and again it reverts to it's normal speed [fast!], but as a whole it's become a really cr*ppy site to use, unless you've got the patience of Job. Webbie - any ideas what's causing the problems? I'm gonna click on 'post quick reply' ... well that's a laugh for a start!0

Hi folks,
There are a couple of factors leading to increased slowness:
- the site has grown massively since it's beginning but in this last couple of months, since the banking crisis got worse, we've had tens of thousands more people come here for help. Of course, this puts increased strain on the servers and slows things down.
- It's Tip day. When the Tip goes out, we get a huge upsurge of users so Wednesdays are always the busiest days.
While we're seeing the slowness here in MSE Towers, it's not slow enough to stop us using it eg, loading this reply page took about 8 secs. So, I would ask at this stage if people could list some basic info for us as it might help us trace problems beyond what we're seeing.
Could you please list: Where you are (roughly), your ISP and broadband type and roughly how long, on average, it takes to load up a Forum page.
Just so you're aware, we have more hardware on the way which we hope will help speed things up again.
Thanks,

understood, but it's not just been like this today, it's been like this for several days now.
ok, I don't understand why location matters but if it does I'm in the east. ISP is Demon 8Mbps service (BT based). Time to load a page between 15-20 seconds, sometimes longer. Other trimes, as Nomad25 says, it's back to normal fast speed (albeit briefly!)0
