    Back again,
i`ve just had a well earned soak in the bath so i feel relaxed now, i`ve spent all day in the kitchen and done no housework at all apart from the ironing this morning :o

I made the tortillas and a big pan of lentil and bacon soup, i used my hm recipe that i posted a few weeks ago. The turkey leg is in the slow cooker with allsorts of things that needed using up and i`ve added pearl barley to it so that i can make soup with all the liquid. TBH the turkey leg won`t be cooked in time for tonight now so we shall probably have the soup instead.
I made 2 batches of bread rolls so they will go nicely with the soup and a batch of tuna and onion sandwich spread for DH`s sandwiches too.

I managed to squeeze in starting off two more demijohns of hm wine too, i must keep up with this as it`s lovely! I`ve also been sipping from the glass of gin that was left from last night, it`s in the fridge door and every time i opened it i could hear the glass shouting drink me :D

Tonight i shall walk the houndies after tea and settle down with more gin and some wine too i think. I`d better do tomorrows shopping list first though.

PenPin - ((((HUGS)))) for you and for everyone else in need of one today, seems like there are quite a few (me included)

Tired mum, Elona, Mioliere and all the peeps who are missing - i do agree that i sometimes don`t know what to post and feel as if i`m missing something.
I do like the thread now but in a different way, it seems very hardcore OS and i feel like i`ve been naughty if i`ve not done enough OSing in my day. On a workday i hardly have time for anything and i really miss all the chat and banter. I shall carry on with the daily for a while and see how things go.
Perhaps i should only post on the days that i`m not at work and i have time for more hardcore OSing
    Have a nice evening peeps.

    Hi all

Have been down at the allotment most of the day. Have put my onions and garlic in and made a start on clearing the rest of the rubbish. I really am going to ache tomorrow. Want to put some lettuces down there under fleece next week and see if I can encourage a crop to grow.

    Jan :A xxxx

    Hi

How do you grow garlic - do you just plant a buld of the shop bought stuff?

    Thanks

    Hi guys,

Well I have to agree with a lot of the above - what once felt like home now feels like somebody else's house. I've been reading for the last few days but it does not have the same feel to it, HOWEVER you guys are my rocks and pals and I intend to persevere in the hope that it settles back to some normality. It always has done in the past.

Right, the OS bit - not hard-core, can I call it soft-core? :D Washing done, house cleansed to an inch of it's life, letters and phonecalls done, my usual bookwork half done, kiddies played with and fed, soon to be chased to bed when I will have some HM sloe gin  whilst watching Devastation Street and tackling the final OS job for the day - the blooming ir**Ing.

I have taken the best part of this week to feel anywhere near normal but have been to work and not done much else until today. My little man is four tomorrow and we are having a little family get together. He is so excited and has been counting the sleeps for the last few nights, I will have to wrap his pressies later.

The decorating ground to a halt and I fail to see that any will get done tomorrow but I have four pieces left to hang and then paint it so fingers crossed for Sunday and Monday.

Gentle hugs to Pen-pin, I and the others are all here for you and you will get more hugs than you know what to do with over the next few weeks - guaranteed ;) Take care hun.:kisses3:

Tiredmum - you got to help me rally the troops here, don't go, I will miss you. Same goes for you Haribo and all the old faces missing.

Gentle hugs to all who need them and congratulations to all who have achieved anything today, OS or not. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Have a good night,

    Smoky. xxxx

I think that posting about your OS struggles is just as valid as filling the freezer with hm pot noodles, knitting your own some jam and cleaning the grout in your shower with your hm yogurt.

I for one struggle continually with housework. Flylady is absolutley no help at all because I simply don't care enough about cleaning :p I hoover and wipe surfaces and keep the laundry current but that's it really -give me food any day.

Anyway salmon fillets encrusted with Bart's Jerk seasoning and fried are yummy;) That's what we've just eaten.

Ask anyone of my children ( disrespectful lot!) and they will tell you that I am rarely with the programme, so can I ask what is the problem people...I intend to post as before without mentioning specific people unless there is something momentous about their life at present, I am being more careful about hitting the 'thanks' button and I offer hugs, welcomes and congratulations as a general thing rather than individually. I try all the time to be OS and speak of it constantly...looking for help and offering help insofar as I can...surely this is OS in itself...OLD STYLE LIVING is what we are about I thought....so please stay Tired Mum and Haribo and anyone else who has been missing...lovely to see you back Csarina,Dannahaz, Catznine and anyone else posting again, you have been missed.

We had leftovers for dinner...ham, cabbage, kohl rabi with some nice corn on the cob I bought yesterday in Lidl because they were 99c for 2.

I am still working on the Christmas presents which are saving me money as I have all the materials, wool etc...need to buy various buttons when I get to a shop selling some kind of a variety, so difficult to get these days, I find.

Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to newbies and congratulations to those who are celebrating, thank you all for being my friends

I went to M&S today with the intention of replacing some of my underwear. The sale stuff was really good, and I bought over £100 worth of bras and pants for £17. I don't need it all now, but there were matching bra and pants sets with the bras reduced to £3 and the pants reduced from £8 to £1. I would never, ever pay £8, but £1 was ok :D

We have been to the library. Ds fell asleep in the car on the way, so dh stayed with him while I chose my books in peace. Actually it's surprising how many of the books that ds has chosen for me were actually quite readable over the last 12 months :rotfl: Luckily he woke in time to choose some books for himself.

Ds has a "play date" tomorrow, and I am going too as he isn't 4 for 2 1/s weeks. We have made some homemade shortbread shapes this afternoon to take with us. I also made banana muffins for dh as they are his favourite cake. He goes back to sea next Monday, so won't be seeing any home made banana muffins for the next 4 months.

Candygirl, thinking of you and your dad, and Marie, I hope Ulick is feeling better.

    Take care all of you.

That sounds about right to me:T I wish Haribo would come back because she won't feel out of place talking about OS things at all. I certainly don't feel this thread is like someone else's house Smoky, it feels like the old house I used to visit. I think there's enough room in the house for support as well for sharing knowledge:)

I posted this morning that I was going to dust and hoover, It didn't happen, I baked bread instead :D I can do baking and cooking for ever, but I hate housework and do anything to get out of it. I mean, its much more important to look on here for stuff and to read peoples status' on FB. I noticed when I got in tonight that there was a lot of fluffy bits on the floor in the hallway, soooooooo I flapped my coat and now its not all in one place it looks better. :o:D

Am home from work and am most definately not going to do any HW, its Friday night and its wine o'clock.

Have a good evening and if I don't get on tomorrow have a great weekend xxxx
