Morning all:wave:
Hope everyone's OK
The kids have just had cinnamon toast for breakfast. Not the healthiest of breakfasts but we don't have it very often.
They have ham baguettes for lunch with muffins and grapes/clementines. I'm not sure what I'll have-ham sandwich probably.
Supper -I don't know yet. We usually have fish on a Friday. I've got salmon fillets, pollack fillets and some prawns in the freezer. Maybe I'll do paella-type dish or even a fish curry.
I'm off to the library this morning. Later I shall make some more iced fairy cakes -the ones I made on Wednesday went down so well and looked great.0 -
Hello
Never contributed to one of these threads before ( first timer...all shy! )
was up at 4.45, as I had a day dog being dropped off, her name is Roise and she is a 5 month old GSD x Rottie. Too cute for words.
Ive scrubbed the kitchen already this am, have cleaned the food cupboard, done a load of washing ( not hung it out yet tho ) and cleaned the fridge..
am shattered already, and wondering if I can sneak back to bed this afternoon without the dogs complaing too much LOL0 -
For all the ones feeling abit down today, or with a cold! Or who's just feeling cold I thought I'd share this recipe, most of you might know it but it was a sheer wonder for me yesterday!
Chocolate cake in a mug - 5 minute wonder!
You need:
4 Tablespoons cake flour
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil
1 Mug
In the mug put the Flour, Sugar and Cocoa Powder. Mix in the egg. Add the milk and oil. Mix until combined! Pop in the microwave on your highest setting for 3minutes, until it stops rising (will rise out of the mug, don't worry!) turn out onto a plate and cover with whipped cream. Settle down on the sofa and relax!
Cheap to make too!
Hope everyone has a nice day.0 -
Mmmm...I might have that for lunch instead of a ham sandwich Cinny
:T
Is the cake flour just plain flour?0 -
That chocolate cake in a mug sounds very tempting! :T
Breakfast - big bowl of porridge (that's good for high bp right?)
Lunch - hm sweet potato soup
Dinner - kedgaree using up odd pieces of fish from freezer (might have to avoid smoked fish though:()
I need to finish off the lap quilt today, just have to find a long extension lead so that I can get the sewing machine to work! Might have to brave Mr C's shed!
Keeping this as short and sweet as I can
Have as good a day as you can!

Morning everyone
I have an idea that the real me was stolen away in the night as already I have made some lemon drizzle muffins, done the ironing, hung a load of washing out, been up the shop to get some stamps and post some letters. Usually at this time I am sitting bleary eyed with my first cup of coffee trying to read the thread :rotfl::rotfl:
Oh and also helped elderly lady up the road with her bins, its recycle day today, so thats two bins and a bag of papers. She told me she has terrible trouble getting them out and has asked for help, she was told someone would fetch them but it didn't happen and she doesn't like to bother the council again, hmmmmmm I feel a phone call coming on!
Hope all this energy lasts and there won't be tears before bedtime
Just got to dust round and hoover but am having a little break and catching up on here.
Not sure what to have for dinner tonight, I really must get back into meal planning. Better check in the freezer to see what I can find. Mr T delivery coming tonight but mainly store cupboard stuff so not worth waiting till that comes.
Have a good day xxxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Morning all,
Brrrrrr, it's cold here today! Thank goodness it's Friday! I'm working tonight then off for seven days! :j On the weeks when I'm working the evening meal has to be planned like a military operation because everyone seems to be coming in and going out at different times so cooking on my week off is a much more relaxed affair and I enjoy it so much more.
I've got chicken stock on the go now so planning to make some soup for this evening. I'm not quite sure what type yet, I need to have a root around in the outside fridge to see what veggies we have or I might just do a thick ham and lentil one.
The chocolate cake in a mug had mixed reviews from Old Stylers. I made it and the boys enjoyed it but it was more like a sponge pudding and has to be eaten straight away or it goes very dry and dense.
Thanks to everyone who gave me help yesterday with the cards, especially Troo for the info. :T I made some yesterday and I was really pleased with them. I think it could become addictive.
Bridie, welcome back! I see you've had a little girl! Congratulations!
Beth, Here's the recipe for D&DD's Apple braid. If you scroll down a bit on that thread there's a picture of it too.
Hope everyone has a good day.
