Thank you for your help and input today soolin. My partner phoned the telephone number and was told she can only call once as a courtesy call. The reply anyway was have to deal with Trust And Safety via email. When I attempted to log into Ebay I was only directed to the usual contact us email form so completed that I hope that will get to Trust and Safety.
My partner has informed me that she was prevented from listing a pair of my old Lacoste jeans yesterday and remembers a warning about needing to wait a month. She presumed this ment a month to list the jeans but perhaps it ment a month to list anything designer so when I listed different but designer item afterwards this may have causes a breach???
Thanks again0 -
Yes that sounds likely. That is the rules I have tried to explain, whilst not fully understanding them myself
, about certain levels of sellers being limited to a certain number of sales in any given time.
That would have been a polite warning, and although it would not have been shown as an official warning on the seller dashboard it will still have registered. Going against a soft warning would get you suspended.
However, if it is just that then you should persist and try and get reinstated. With any luck they may give you a fixed time suspension, maybe 7 or 30 days, but you may need to grovel a bit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Well based on the reply I received this moring it does not look like I will be selling or buying again:
" Hello,
Thank you for writing to us regarding the suspension of your account '.
I understand that your account is important to you, but we believe the
suspension is fair. Your account is suspended indefinitely for
repeatedly breaching our policies.
We advised you that listing these types of items would lead to the
indefinite suspension of your account. Since then we've removed the
following listing:
280274122470 - LEVI JEANS DARK BLUE WAIST 32 LEG 32 RED TAB
280274123431 - LEVI JEANS FADED BLUE WAIST 32 LEG 30 RED TAB STYLE:581
Finally, please note that this suspension does not relieve you of your
agreed-upon obligation to pay any fees you may owe to eBay.
I hope that this information helps to clarify our position. We
appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
Kind regards,
Sandy Jones
eBay Trust & Safety"
The only thing I can remember that fits the "we advised you that listing these type of items would lead to suspension" is the warning I mentioned when my partner attempted to list a pair of lacoste trousers. She thought the warning was specific to that make and not clothes in general!!
Would I personally be able to open an Ebay account as my partner and I have separate address (she is moving in next week) so my address and has never been used as I have never had an Ebay account in my name?
We also have individual email addresses but the only problem is we only have one joint bank account. If I can open an Ebay account and give my address,my email address could I use the same bank account that we used on the account that has been suspended?? Would we keep the same Paypal account and if so would this create problems??
Sorry thinking out load again!!0 -

Clear the cookies, use a different IP if possible, new phone, new card, new paypal account and you're good to go.
Make sure nothing you use is the same as it was in the other account.
You may get warned by other forum members that signing up again after being booted off for good is against the rules, but you've done nothing wrong and you've got nothing to lose anyway.
I wonder what ebay's shareholders make of ebay deliberatly shedding fee paying customers so often?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

That doesn't sound like one soft warning to me, there had to be other warnings on the seller dashboard. We advised you that listing these types of items would lead to the
indefinite suspension of your account. Since then we've removed the
following listing:
If you are going to try opening another account then please remember that Mr Brooker is quite proud of having been booted off 'several times' having been caught. You will also need everything different, including bank details, names and your IP address. if you reuse anything or accidentally log in on an 'old' IP you will be suspended completely and for ever.
You will also have to avoid selling similar items as your competitors wll be the ones reporting you and will notice your posting style and items and will almost certainly turn you in again. You will also need a new paypal account with all new details, and then be subject to all the verification rules and probably the holding of payments for 21 days rule as well as a new user. Unless you can source something entirely different to sell you will satnd out like a sore thumb.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks Dave and Soolin.
If I did consider opening a new account all my details are different anyway: Postal address, phone, and never had a Paypal account in my name. The only problem would be a bank account. We have a joint current account which was being used previously and the only single bank account I have is a savings account but am I correct in thinking that the bank account used needs to be a debit account???
I have replied to rejection message pleading innocence with a grovel so will wait and see first but im not holding up much hope!!0 -
I'd keep grovelling for a while, it would be a shame to lose an account with so much positive feedback.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. http://pages.ebay.co.uk/vero/participants.html is a list of all participants - and there are HUNDREDS of them. It does not just cover clothes and cosmetics, but consumer elctronics and software.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
There is even a tutorial you can take here:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/tutorial/verotutorial/intro.html
Also, second hand items are included in the VERO restrictions.
This is also interesting:- Why didn't eBay contact me first?
When eBay is notified by Intellectual Property Rights Owners, of items that infringe their Intellectual Property Rights such as, copyright or trade mark, we are obliged to remove the listings as soon as possible. - Why are there other listings like mine that have not been removed?
We review all listings that are reported to us by members of eBay and participants in the VeRO (Verified Rights Owners) Programme. These items may not yet have been reported to us or they may not been seen as Infringing by the Rights Owner.
