. As long as the test strip was saturated and the control box showed that the test had been activated then it could be a positive. If the test is still in date then the result should be ok but i do know that some tests show an evaporation line.
Do you not have a late night chemist anywhere? I would test again tomorrow and see what the result is. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks Homeaway. I think I might pop to Sainsburys tonight so I have one ready for first thing in the morning if AF hasn't showed by then!0

nikkinoo any news? Am keeping my digits crossed for you
Just wondering what vitamins you or your other halves are taking while TTC? I'm on Folic Acid (Sanatogen includes vits & mins) and Omega 3 while my other half it taking multivitamins and zinc (when he remembers!). Is any body taking anything else, also does brand matter or are supermarket own brand just as good?Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

I decided to get a Clearblue digital test to save ANY ambiguity, so all excited when there was no sign of AF this morning I did my test, and got a BFN. Of course I convinced myself that the test was wrong! Until the fat lady sang an hour or so ago to confirm that the test was, of course, absolutely right. So it's back to square one for me. I feel so cheated as I've only had one 31 day cycle before, about 18 months ago - usually I'm 28 days like clockwork. Thanks for the thoughts and advice though guys!
Re vitamins Somnium, I take Pregnare for conception and pregnancy - the cheapest place I've found them is Sainsburys or Tesco, 7.85 I think for 90. I noticed that the ones just for conception (which are quite a bit more expensive) contain l'arginine, so I've started taking a l'arginine supplement too as of this morning (I think it's meant to improve libido). It's not suitable during pregnancy though, so I'll stop taking it after OV.
DH takes: Vit C, Selenium, L'arginine, Folic acid and zinc. Once the folic acid and zinc supplements are finished up I'll give him a pregnacare as well I think. He's very good taking his little pile of tablets each morning! His last SA showed slightly low motility. He has to do another one asap, so now that he's been taking Selenium and L'arginine for 3 months it'll be interesting to see if his motility has improved.
Have a good weekend everyone xx0 -
No, though that was the sort of thing I was expecting. They just looked at our records, DH's previous results, my blood results and presented IUI/IVF as the next step!
I really expected them to do more, and had I not have been totally taken off guard I'd have asked about that (I will do next time!). I've not read TCOYF (I probably should!), but I did read Ben Elton's Inconceivable (the book of the film Maybe Baby), which I probably read FAR too much into  It's worth a giggle if you haven't read it yet
This sounds like our experience as well. I was surprised we were referred immediately for IVF.
Now that we have been referred to a urologist for OH, at least they are testing his hormone levels, etc.
homeaway - Thanks for the recommendation for reflexology. I have had sessions before TTC for other reasons (stress related) so I am tempted to seek out a local practitioner for this too.
Need to do something, we have switched our diets to all organic, switched to caffeine free tea and are drinking more water. With my reading, we need all the help we can get!
With OH's SC its not looking good for a natural pregnancy. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Hi Nikkinoo - when I got a BFP in June, I had the faintest of lines, and pink spotting all that week, which continued on and off for a few weeks afterwards.
Good luck!0 -
Welcome MrsH. Congrats on your DD :j i hope you get the same result next time you try ICSI. I am confused as to why they're putting you on clomid if there is severe male factor, i'd have thought those hormones mucking you about would make it all worse, esp as you say it doesn't even work and you aren't really supposed to have more than 6 cycles! Have you tried femera? Has your DH gone on all the sperm friendly diets and supplements, and seen a urologist recently to see what they can do? Best of luck with everything.
Angela - the reflexologist i was talking about - i found her on my local gumtree! She had a webpage too and a small clinic so seemed professional, even though she does home visits for me. I look forward to it so much every week as it's the only thing i can find that relaxes me, although i think it's abit of a costly addiction so will have to cut back to once a month
Nikki - sorry for all the confusion you're having. I've never used an expensive test before so i don't know what the window looks like! I use the cheapie ones off ebayI know AF is often light or shorter than usual when ppl get a BFP. Those digital one's aren't very sensitive, some ppl don't get a positive until after 19 dpo. The first test could've been a genuine positive and it was a chemical pg too. If AF comes on full force i would maybe start charting, or take OPK at least, just to make sure when you're ovulating so you know when to expect AF or BFP next time.
For vitamins i take asda folic acid and omega 3-6-9 tablets everyday (2 for £4). Then i use asda cheapy multivitamins before O. A 75p box would last about 2-3 months for me because i don't always O. In the 2WW i take pregnacare every other day (as they make me sicky). I get them for about £3 a pack off ebay too, my last box lasted about 9 months lol.
I'm still in limbo with this pg. I've been in alot of pain and had some spotting. Had an u/s and the women was rubbish, she didn't even check to see if it was cysts causing the problem. I've got a small sack in my tube, there's nothing inside it though so hoping it goes away itself. Got another in my womb, no heartbeat/embryo/anything in it, so again just got to wait and see. The pain is driving me up the wall. I'm knicker checking every hour :rotfl:to see if it's all ending or not. Not knowing either way has me pretty anxious.0 -
Hello Ladies,Haven't felt like posting after the disappointment of our failed IVF - but I'm back, undefeated, and raring to go !!!!! (mind you,I've been left with 10lbs of excess weight to loose)
We've got our follow up appointment with the fertility clinic on the 28th & depending on what they say our chances are,we've decided to try one more attempt (dunno which bank that I'm going to have to rob tho') going to have to get a move on,as birthday number 41 is looming fast !!!!!!
sominum - we were told that our only hope was ICSI,we had 5 SA,all confirming the same thing (quantity & quality, rubbish) Anyway,OH took zinc and a multi vit for 3 months and guess what ? the swimmers had improved so much that they managed to do straight forward IVF instead of ICSI.
MY account - I've got everything crossed - it must be so frustrating, when all you can do is wait.
Welcome to the newbies,& I hope that everyone else is OK.

Thought I'd mention www.zipvit.com again for vitamins etc
Agnus Castus 100mg - 90 tablets for £2.99 (they are recommending 2 or 3 per day)
Folic Acid 400mg 360 tablets for £3.49 - 1 tablet per day.
Pregnancy Multivitamins 90 tablets for £3.99 -1 tablet per day. They are also meant for TTC.
They are on a BOGOF at the moment too - so 6 months worth for £4. I would say though that these are not easily tablets to physically swallow - they are big and round, without a smooth coating on them - so may not be brilliant if you struggle with tablets.
(A215 product code)
They also sell very good quality omega oils - we are currently taking 5ml a day of the Zipvit OJ omega 3 juice. 360ml is £5.99.The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
Ok I'm now sooooo confused! As were are only just over a week away from our appt. at ICU clinic I will ask when we go what they recomend. I don't want to waste money buying something we don't need. Not that I'm saying you all are, but our circumstances are all different. nottslass I pointed out what you said about your OH and I think it did the trick
hopefully he will remember to take them now he knows they work.
nikkinoo have had that too (AF week late so tested and low and behold it turned up a few hours after test!) and I know how down you must feel so lots of huggles, don't worry your time will come.
So one more question...
Have any of you already purchased baby stuff or are you superstitious? Or is it me just being too tempted working in a baby shop? I really need to stop am running out of space...eek! On the plus side when BFP happens I'll have saved a fortune with all my sale bargains hehe.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2
