Keeping everything crossed for you myaccount.

Can someone (Shelly!) help with a clearblue fertility monitor question please. This is my third month of using it. It asked me as usual to start testing on day 8. I got my two peak days on days 12 and 13, but it is still asking me every morning to do a dip test. In the last two months it stopped asking for these the day after my last peak day. I'm now on day 16. Any idea why this is? Thanks.

    Hi Nicki.

I'm sorry I can't be of much help at all I'm afraid.
Looking back at my records....during my 3rd month I peaked on days 13 & 14, tested on days 15 & 16, missed day 17 and tested again on day 18, then no more.

In my 4th month I peaked on days 14 & 15, missed day 16 and tested again on day 17, then no more.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help :o I don't know what advice to give you except maybe call the careline and ask them if it would matter or mess up the monitor if you just stopped testing because you know you have ov'd.

  • I got my letter through for my HSG today - appts only on Tues mornings and should be around day 10 of my cycle. Well, that'll only happen if af starts about 3 days late, otherwise it'll have to be around OV and I certainly don't want that! Also they say that you shouldn't ttc during an HSG cycle... does anyone know if that's just one of their 'overkill' precautions? I really don't want to have to use contraception for a month unless it's absolutely necessary. Besides, I keep hearing that an HSG can possibly increase fertility for a few cycles... I'd hate to miss out on that opportunity unless there's a likelihood of something nasty happening!

How did you get on today myaccount? I've had everything crossed for you all day xx
  • Hope everything is ok myaccount? Have been thinking of you all day

I have had 2 HSG's and I don't remember being told not to TTC after the procedure but I think you need the procedure before you ov as they don't want a chance of you being pg when they do it.

I don't think we bd for a couple of days after me having them done as I felt uncomfortable still.

I agree with Shelly I think its more a precaution against you being PG at the time of the HSG as it would cause complications. I was told the same thing befor mine and the nurse asked me before the procedure if there was any chance I could be PG as they wouldnt do it otherwise.

  • Thanks Shelly and Somnium - it says that the HSG has to be done before day 10 of my cycle so I'll be careful beforehand and not worry about it afterwards.
It's a right pain actually because they only do the procedure on a Tues morning where I am. If AF starts any later than today for me there's a chance that I'll still be bleeding by Tues (which means they won't do it), or the following Tues will be too late! On the other hand, there's always that slim chance that it won't start...

Good grief nikkinoo - that's a pretty small window they expect, isn't it? Someone could wait months for their system to fit into that criteria.

I waited 5 months for a HyCosy (similar procedure) as they only did it one morning a fortnight !

Sorry, but I think that is just ridiculous! Surely they can be more accomodating? How incredibly horrible to make someone wait 5 months simply because their cycle isn't ideally timed.
