  • OMD Lilo i am so sorry :( What an awful shock to have. Although you were fine in summer (think thats when you said?) so sounds like they have caught it quickly. I wish you all the strength in the world and hope it can be treated quickly. If you can, please still come here for support and to let us know how you are. Will be thinking of you..

Hi everyone, hope you are all well, and nottslass, you are still holding in there. I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2009 and that you all get the BFPs you are hoping for.

I will be leaving the thread now, as the news at the colposcopy clinic was as bad as it could be - I have cervical cancer. I have had the biopsy and blood tests, and am awaiting having an MRI scan to determine the extent and treatment, but unless I am a medical phenomenon, the consultant oncologist is certain that I have it. Obviously they could have caught it quickly and treatment may still enable me to have children, but I have to be realistic that my journey has ended. Sorry to end 2008 in this manner, but I didnt want to depress 2009!!!!

Good luck and sticky baby dust to you all, and thank you for your help and support during my own journey.

    Lilo

So sorry to read this Lilo but I urge you to not give up until you know for sure the extent of the cancer and what treatment is best for you.

I too had cervical cancer and lost most of my cervix to it but my consultant has had women in his clinic get pg after the same surgery as me.

If you want to PM me at all about what you are going through please feel free and I will help and support you as best I can.

    look after yourself

    Lilo,

I think we're all a bit in shock at your news. We're here for you though, and it sounds like your doctors are on the ball. I hope your treatment goes well, and wish you a speedy recovery.

Please keep in touch, even if it's just a quick pm sometimes.

    Take care,

Nottslass, big hugs. Hopefully you and OH are looking after each other.

lilo, so sorry to hear your news. Probably a good idea to lay off the ttc for a while to concentrate on this new news. As shelly says though, don't assume you have to give up on it forever...

Hi I'm new to this thread/topic and I'm a little confused with all the abbrieviations (sp?) Can any one help with a list of them and what they mean?

Any how me and the OH have been trying for the best part of 6 years now and after a long, long wait and many tests and doc appointments we have finally been refered for IVF. Our initial consultation is the 27th Jan so am really excited about it. I am however worrying about my weight as my BMI is not what it should be. It was much higher and have been trying to excercise and eat healthily and it has worked but am still not quite where I should be...eeek! Now its kinda got me pannicking that its not going to be right and its going to muck up everything :(

Oh and one last question for anyone who has been through IVF are there any charges for all the medication as I kinda need to work out a budget, I now the hospital parking alone is gonna cost a heap at £1.60 an hour!

    Hi Somnium

What is your BMI? And what does your clinic want you to be?

The drugs vary depending on how you react to them - ours was about £700 3 years ago? However I was on the minimum amount.
