...having nothing to loose,he started taking a multi vitamin and zinc - by the time we had our treatment, his sperm had improved so much that we didn't need the ICSI,only straight foward IVF !!!!!
That's great news nottslass! I've had DH on a multivit and zinc for ages now, along with selenium and l'argenine for the past couple of months. I'm hoping that we see improvements in his sperm results if/when another test is done.0 -
I'm going to show this thread to DH when he comes home. I think he'll feel quite positive when he sees everyone's responses
He does take a tesco multivit, which has everything on the list myaccount posted a while back except vitamin B5 in it (and fish oil and the indian herbal stuff), so we're going to see if we can up his intake of B5 - can't hurt.
I guess we also need to see what happens when he does the second test next week.
I've been reading up about IUI, ICSI and IVF today. Phew! My brain is buzzing, but I want to feel like I have some idea what to expect.

Only just caught upwith the thread after Christmas and I'm so shocked! Lilo, it sounds like they've picked it up much sooner because you have been ttc, whereas without the intervention it could have taken much longer to be picked up. It also sounds like people on this board have been, or know people who have been through this and gone on to have babies. Take lots of care of yourself and please keep us updated as we all want to know that you're ok.
Nottslass, sorry about your BFN. Take some time to get over the disappointment and then decide what to do. I know that I always feels so despondent each month (39 now but who's counting!), but then we decide to keep trying.
My friend, who I haven't spoken to in years (literally) telephoned me yesterday out of the blue to tell me she was pregnant and 'so shocked as they weren't even trying'. Aaaaarrrrggghhh!!!! She then spent an hour telling me about which pushchair they're buying etc etc. Because I haven't spoken to her in so long she has no idea that we have been trying for over 3 years and are just beginning the assisted conception route so I was delighted for her for a whole hour and then drank half a bottle of wine when I got off the phone! So I've now probably sabbotaged this months ttc, great! Oh, and she's now going to come down and stay with us, all fat and cheerful! Where's the wine again........?0 -
JoJo77 I hate when that happens and it happens alot! It doesn't help working for Mothercare either!
Am so pleased I can talk to people in the same situation. I don't really understand all the technical speak behind alot of what you guys are saying but I know what your all feeling. Will deffinatley have to get the OH on Multi Vits with Zinc, he is taking plain old multi vits atm. Still worried about my BMI will have to check it again tomorrow. Also still waiting to hear if anyone knows will there be any charges for meds with IVF if I'm having it through NHS?Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Kencokenco - i really hope the Vitex will agree with you. It's a 50/50 whether it works or completely ruins your cycles. Doesn't seem to have much middle ground. Have a look at soulcysters.net, there's usually something about it. The reason I tried this is because most prescription drugs have landed me in hospital for days with allergic reactions and chemical sensitivities.
Do make sure you get those odd pelvic symptoms checked out. I've had pelvic pain since early 2004 and it's very worrisome. I was always told it was IBS and PCOS and refused any investigation  It last's throughout my cycle and often keeps me up at night, i wish could've gone private and got it sorted years ago.
I hope this is ok to post, but i appear to be pregnant  After not ovulating properly since FOREVER... 2 months of fertility reflexology + daily baby aspirin and BAM 2 ovulations and a subsequent BFP! I'm very concerned for what the (problem behind the) pelvic pain will do to the pregnancy. By the pain i'm in I couldn't imagine anything being able to implant, so i'm completely shocked. AF isn't even due yet so I know it could just be a chemical pregnancy. I've barely been able to catch my breath since I took the tests!
Is it ok for me to stick around? There's just been a few "first try" BFPs on the pregnancy thread and it's still so hard to see. I have my usual pelvic pain and pre-AF symptoms, it still doesn't feel real and I know it may turn out like all my other losses. The lines (2 hpt) are very faint, and they are both the same colour too. It worries me they aren't getting darker. Also, my temp just dropped today back to the coverline. Surely if all was well that would not be happening after implantation? Ughh i'm so scared it's just a chemical. The last 36hrs have been so amazing, i dont want it to be over already
Somnium - i have no idea how you manage to work in Mothercare?! I would be a crying mess everytime someone walked through the door lol.0 -
Myaccount - I am keeping everything crossed for you! I hope you get the news you want. When is AF due? Just wondering how early you tested to get a bfp - it could be why it's still faint???
I started temping today, and using Fertility Friend. It seems complicated, but I'm thinking of paying for the vip service - anyone else use it? Is it value for money (being MSE for a mo!)?

Found this on Fertility Friend (for Myaccount)What does it mean if my temperature dips below the coverline during the luteal phase? Should I be worried? Could I be pregnant?
A single temperature point doesn't usually carry much significance on its own as individual temperatures can be affected by so many factors, both hormonal and non-hormonal. What you are looking for are trends and patterns over time.
If your temperature dips several times before your period is expected, then it could mean that you are not taking your temperature accurately (especially if you are not taking it at the same time) or that you did not really ovulate
Also, remember that the coverline carries no physiological meaning. It is just a visual tool.0 -

If you're having it funded through the NHS then there will be no charges. We went to an NHS clinic but paid for our treatment as there was a 3 year waiting list for the one cycle the NHS provides in this area. The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -

3 year waiting list for 1 cycle? That's awful - natural fertility may have decreased in 3 years, and there's only a 20-25% success rate per cycle. I can see why you went private!
I want to find out how many cycles and what the waiting list is for NHS treatment in my area. There's no way we'd be able to afford to go private.0 -

A quick phonecall to your nearest fertility clinic will probably tell you what you want to know.
As for the cost, we released some equity out of the house.
