Hi Ladies,
Shelley, so sorry about your catI have two and they are absolutely my little babies, I chat to them all the time & even say bye and tell them to be good when I leave the house
[tragic really], so i know how special they can be...just try to remember that she's not in pain etc any more and you gave her a lovely home all her life for which I am sure she was grateful in her own catty way!
Well...not much going on with me, still no period - been on cabergoline for almost 2 wks now, hopefully the prolactin levels are dropping and I am returning to being a normal human being :rotfl: Finger's crossed...they say it should be between 1 and 2 months to get ovulate and have a period so a little longer to wait...doing plenty of BD'ing just in case, you never knowI have tried this temping business but really struggling with it, a/ to remember to do it & b/ to see a difference - I feel like because I'm starting on a random day after 8 months without a period, it's just not quite right? Any tips on what to do?! Will it work if I just start on a random day? Ahh...if only this baby making was as simple as it was made out
Hope all are well & had a fab Xmas? Happy New Year to all too - here's to lots of shiny BFP's for 2009 :beer:Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
gymfiend - if you're going to temp, you might as well start somewhere - a random day is just as good as any other - i started mid-cycle when i started temping - if nothing else, just to get into the habitMSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Must've been typing at the same time as youCan't believe the Dr told you that you were unlikely to have children...have you been back recently?
I don't know much about PCOS and imagine one of the lovely ladies who does will be along soon to tell you lots more...but here is what I know:
1/ Clomid can be prescribed to help you to ovulate if you don't [seemingly not as you have such irregular periods?]
2/ Temping would be useful so even if you ovulate rarely, you will hopefully be able to work out when so you give yourself the best chance
3/ A low GI diet has been shown to helpI bought a book on amazon called the PCOS Diet [and you, or something like that?! Can't remember exact name...] - I was told I had PCO - not the syndrome though they don't think...and this is what I've been trying
Hope this helps a little...and lots of luck, xxxBaby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -

Thanks Triggles...I know it's ridiculous but because I'm not starting at the beginning of anything it just frustrates me...I want it to be new and shinyWow I sound stupid! I'm going to try...it's my new years resolution, as of Friday
xx
p.s. hope all's going well?xBaby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
Hi everyone, hope you are all well, and nottslass, you are still holding in there. I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2009 and that you all get the BFPs you are hoping for.
I will be leaving the thread now, as the news at the colposcopy clinic was as bad as it could be - I have cervical cancer. I have had the biopsy and blood tests, and am awaiting having an MRI scan to determine the extent and treatment, but unless I am a medical phenomenon, the consultant oncologist is certain that I have it. Obviously they could have caught it quickly and treatment may still enable me to have children, but I have to be realistic that my journey has ended. Sorry to end 2008 in this manner, but I didnt want to depress 2009!!!!
Good luck and sticky baby dust to you all, and thank you for your help and support during my own journey.

I really hope I won't make anyone angry as I don't usually post on this thread, I'm currently on the other TTC thread but I like to read this thread & root for you guys too.
I just wanted to say that I read your post Lilo & I'm so sorry to here your bad news, it had me in tears. I really hope that they have caught the cancer early & that you fight & recover from this. I'm not really wording this right but I just hope that things get better for you.
I (& I'm sure many others) will be thinking of you.

Thanks everyone for your lovely messages.
We are doing ok...I think.
We buried her this morning in a part of the garden where she won't be disturbed by any future digging of the garden. I am looking into plants/bushes that flower at this time of year to mark her grave. Had another good cry as hubby placed her in the ground (wrapped in a towel and then in a box....couldn't bear to think of bare earth on her)
Its only been just over 24 hours but I miss her like crazy already.
Thanks again everyone

We bought a little wooden wheelbarrow and filled it with pink plants (she was called Pinkie) and put it on top of her 'grave'. That way always knew where she was!I wish we had done something similar for our other girl as there was a horrible incident with a fox shortly after burying her, very traumatic

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it apparently does look at motile sperm - I'm hoping it will flag up anything that is an immediate issue.
I keep thinking automatically that I have a 'fertility issue', but then I remember it could be DH.

Men are such a pest, if only we could get ourselves pregnant lol! Morphology and antibodies are key too so do try and push him.
I believe it's 30% female, 30% male and 30% both (the rest 'unexplained') so who knows. I have always just 'felt' something is wrong with me, DH doesn't really talk about as he just gets on with things really. I agree, its AF that makes us so aware of it.0 -
kencokenco wrote: »Hi to all on this thread. I am new hear and just had a quick question to ask. I have been diagnosed with PCOS since the age of 20. I am now 31, I was told I probally would not have children as it was hard to conceive. I was then put on metformin to help regulate my periods as I only get 1 period a yr if lucky??. Well I was allergic to metformin and tried various other drigs all of which I was allergic too.
A friend of mine tried Agnus Castus a hermal remedy and said it helps women conceive who have pcos, it helps to regulate periods and along with other various effects. Sooo my question is this, Has anyone tried it and if so did it work???
I think Vitex is really a 'love it or hate it' for PCOS'ers. From some (like me) it can cause havoc, but for others it works.
Have you tried Clomid or Femera? Soy isoflavones can be taken just like Clomid (day 3-7 or 5-9), you can buy the capsules from Boots and Holland and Barret. It must be 100-150mg of the active ingredient. They appear to work just as well as clomid (about 60% ovulate).
I have stubborn PCOS and began taking a baby aspirin each day (exc AF). It increases blood flow to the ovaries. I also started weekly reflexology. Since doing these i've ovulated 2 months in a row!0 -

I agree. Usually pre-o your temps will be roughly under 98 and over 98 post-o. It will at leave give you a good idea if AF is on her way.0
