OMG, there's a lotta love on the thread today !!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone, they transfered 2 Blastocysts - one good one & one not so good,So its all up to mother nature now (not that she's been particularly kind to me of late).
Test day is 4th Jan - Hopefully the coming Festivities will keep my mind occupied (as if)

FE - Not long to go now,Will be looking out for your post tomorrow.
Totally off the subject,Did you say that you were cruising down the Nile ? if so,take a tip from me,and buy some of that alcohol hand gel - it really helps if you use it before eating and after touching money,as Egyptian money is filthy !!!

Thanks to Nicki and Shelley for saying exactly what I feel but didn't dare say! Why post on a ttc thread where people are dealing with getting bfn's and symptom spotting and hoping, waiting, praying... to just announce that you are little miss ultra-fertile and managed it without trying?! I think it should be a thread rule not to do it! It's different if they've been posting and taken part in the thread and the support network it is for so many of us, but to just appear and post a bfp announcement is RUDE I tells ya!

Shelley, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. *hugs*

    Morning all.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels the way I do about newbie posters with their BFP's :D

And thanks for the good wishes for my cat. She is looking everyday of her (roughly) 17 years just lately and it breaks my heart to think about what's slowly going on inside her little body.
She and her partner in crime (our other cat) will get some Turkey tomorrow, that will perk her up.

  • Hi Annie,

Sorry stalking this board as well as ttc, I fully agree with you about people who post for the first time with BFP - can't say it on the other section for obvious reasons.

Yes, we are. Thanks for the tip Nottlass. I already have some anti-bac wipes, but will get some gel as well. i have mixed feelings about the trip really. DH really wants to do it. I really want to see all the historical stuff, but am really wary about all the begging and people tring to sell me stuff which I am told is overwhelming wherever you go (have experienced this in other countries before, but not to that extent).... I'm just hoping to relax on the boat, which is all inclusive, and just do the organised trips where hopfully I can hide behind the guide and other tourists!
Well done on the ET - will keep lots of bits crossed for you - LOL!

Hi ClareEmily - welcome to the thread. I have PCOS too, though thankfully it is not severe in my case. You are in good company here - everyone is very supportive and you can rant as much as you like!

No Shelly - your not the only one at all - I post on the other board sometimes and I managed to resist the urge to redirect the lurker to the pregnancy thread the other day when she posted her BFP to let us know her super fertile she was!
I sometimes read this thread as my best friend has plucked up the courage to go to her GP next year as she has been trying for 2 years now with no luck :(
It's good to be able to read people's experiences on here as she is worried and didn't know what to expect but now I've got a rough idea so have told her what her GP is likely to suggest thanks to the ladies on here x

Wishing you all a merry christmas and a happy new year x
  • OK Gals...I'm sure I have tortured you enough!

Woke up at 4.00am this morning, desparate for a pee! Lay in bed for about 5 mins having a debate with myself whether that counted as 'first morning urine', and whether it was really too early to test after all, and how would I feel if it was negative? or even if it was positive.....

Eventually had to 'go' so grabbed the 'first response' from the bedside table on the way.

Usually when I test I don't even look at the test strip until the time has elapsed, but I hadn't taken my watch with me, so I set the thing on the side of the bath and counted slowly, trying to approximate seconds. One minute in - nothing. One minute 30......was that a faint pink line????????

YES IT WAS!!!!!! OMG - I GOT A BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :j

MY BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT, EVER, EVER EVER!!!!!!!!!:santa2: :xmassmile :j

I debated waking up DH, but he has been working so hard lately and was so tired that I just tucked him in and let him sleep. I crept downstairs, wrapped up the + test, and put it on his bedside table!
When he woke up he was not going to open his 'present' (he has a thing about not opening anything until Christmas day) but I insisted....and he was so shocked he couldn't speak, all he could do was hug & kiss me! He confessed afterwards that he heard me go to the loo at about 6.00 and thought I would be cursing because I was half-asleep and had forgotten to take the test (have done that before!). Then he said I should have woken him at 4.00 to tell him anyhow (sometimes you can't win!!!!!), but he is soooo happy!

Thank you so much to all of you on this thread for your support - you are all wonderful :grouphug: and I hope so much that all your dreams come true as soon as possible!

If it's Ok with you, I'm going to stick around for a while? I know from (bitter) experience that is early days yet, and so much can go wrong, that I don't think I am ready to go join the PG thread for good yet!

A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from a still-very-shocked FE!

    Hi All

I was just popping on to see how you were getting on, to say thanks for your kind comments and to wish you all a very happy Christmas and BFP filled New Year... but even better than that i can say a huge CONGRATS to FE :T!!! Fantastic news, will be keeping everything crossed for you, what a great Christmas pressie.

Here's to lots more BFPs in 2009!

  • Congrats FE, genuinely happy for you ! Glad someone has got a BFP for Xmas.

I am so glad that it isn't just me that thinks that way about the other thread. It just so happened that I got a BFP on our first month of trying but I purposefully did not post that as I felt it would be insensitive to everyone else, and also felt that something might go wrong, which it did (why do I always have to be right???).

I was convinced that this was the month however AF arrived very suddenly yesterday (not like her) with avengence, major nasty crampiness for Xmas yey (and was in horrible mood yesterday when my temp plummetted, poor DH got it in the neck) still not too happy but FE's news has cheered me up (and actually fell a bit teary, what a sap, better not though as am at work!).

BUT to find the silver lining, I can have wine now (and just bought some new Wii games and everyone knows that is more fun with Wiine!) and cocktails on our holiday to NY after New Year.

Happy Christmas everyone and lets hope 2009 is the year :D xxx
