Me too! I was trying to explain the concept to my DH last nite, but he just kept looking at me with an expression on his face that said quite cleary that he thinks I have definitely lost the plot and am descending into complete lunacy.... Mind you he doesn't even go online very often and finds the idea of having 'friends' on an online messageboard odd enough to start with - Men eh!!!!!
He can be quite sweet at times though - He did a load of laundry, vacuumed and changed the bedding last nite (all without being asked - Wow!) while I made a fancy-dress costume for a party I'm going to tonite....and only made a few comments about how long it was taking me and wasn't it a bit of a waste of time as I am only going to be wearing it for a couple of hours....(well, I didn't say he was perfect - LOL!).
Anyhow - back to the plot....All the Best for today Nottlass, hope it goes well and that you get a good clutch of eggs 'laid'...cluck, cluck cluck!!!!!!

Jiblets - I'm like that emotionally at the moment too. I normally hold everything together so i'm not sure what's going on, if it's just circumstantial or even just ending & entering another year not pregnant. Unfortunately the severity of my pelvic pain, bleeding and hormonal issues have made no difference with waiting times or the way i've been (un)treated by the doctors. You say you were referred at 10 months TTC - so you will have waited 8 months for the appointment then?
I think Met is only prescribed when there is insulin resistence and/or weight issues. I know it can work very well though, often before even needing Clomid. It's funny how some GPs just give Clomid without even doing a S/A, yet some make you wait for the fertility clinic and HSG etc.
I finally convinced DH to take an afternoon off work, it was so nice to spend a little time togetherI have become stressed/anxious to the point of becoming unwell so i really must learn to relax before it gets out of hand. We got a cheap new bed from Tesco and some gorgeous bedding. Hoped the silk sheets would entice DH to spend more time there with me LOL. However, the next morning i sat on the end of the bed...the wood snapped and i fell right through  If it hadn't taken me 6 hours to assemble it would've been hilarious!! Better luck next time eh  Got a rotten nights sleep on the floor so he's staying at the inlaws until the bed is fixed so he can keep up with these 10-12 hr shifts. It better be sorted by the time i next O!
Best of luck IVF ladies, such a nervewracking but hopeful time for you! TTC can be so heartbreaking, i really hope we all get our BFPs very soon. I'm SO ready for this TTC malarky to be OVER with!!0 -
My fertility consult has been arranged through the doc, and actually it's all been quite quick. We've been trying for 16 months now, so it'll be 18 months in february. I think it may be to do with the fact that my hormones have intermittently gone crazy, and I was getting ridiculously stressed - one morning I went in to school ( I teach) and started crying at 8 30. I didn't manage to stop crying until 10 15.
So I think I was sped up a little because I am mental. Basically. Policy is to refer us a 12 months ttc, but we were actually referred at 10 months ttc.
I'm a little wary to go to BUPA as the doc gave me the impression that if i did that, then decided that I couldn't afford any more, I would have to wait from the beginning on the NHS list again. So as we're quite happy with the speed things are moving as yet, we're staying as we are for now.
Hi,I work for the NHS & MY advise,if you do, decide to use BUPA,is to go with a consultant that also works at your local NHS clinic - most will simply transfer private patients over to their NHS list (but do check with the consultant first ) This is also a good tip for anybody else, who Faces a long wait, from GP referral, for their initial consultation,as this is what often takes
the time - a private consultation is about £150 - hardly MSE - but it can be a good way to jump the Que, a bit !!!!0 -

FE
Hello FE & Ladies,
Well, cannot believe it, we managed to get 10 eggs !!!! (which considering, after 8 days of stimms we only had 4 follies,I don't think is bad)
Anyway,9 have fertilised,so we have been advised to go for 5 day Blastocyst transfer !!! which,in theory, has a higher success rate (if they survive till then)
Another surprise, is that, after being told, right from the beginning, that our only hope was ICSI,(due to OH's "rubbish sperm") his count, motility, etc has improved so much that it was ok for "straight Forward" IVF ([STRIKE]nagging[/STRIKE]reminding him to take his vits & zinc,Has been worth it)
So,all being well, its back on Tuesday for ET - so please get your dancing shoes ready !!!!!!0 -
Best of luck nottslass. Hope all goes well.

Well done Nottslass, nice to know we can have an influence over what happens with the vits etc!
Good luck!Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -

Yes we'll have waited 8 months for the appointment, but it actually came through 3/4 months ago, so we waited approx 4 months for the letter that told me I could phone for an appointment.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
WooHoo - 10 eggs & 9 fertilised! - That's great Nottslass! And good to know that your DH's swimmers made it on their own!!!
How many can you have transferred? At our clinic it is max 2. Will you freeze any 'spare'? I know they are less keen on freezing blastocysts at ours, which is why we went for Emby transfer instead in the hope that we get some for the freezer. We did have assisted hatching on on the 2 put back though.
Hope you are feeling Ok and the after-effects are not too bad. Sit down and put your feet up with a cuppa, and let your DH run around after you for a bit!
Have a great weekend,
