Hi Ladies
Long time lurker over here...may I come in?
Hope all are well & I've got my fingers crossed for a shiny festive BFP for allNot too sure about this fertility dance business but hey...I will give it a go [just hope nobody is watching, not sure if the 'fertility' aspect will improve my dancing skills any!! :rotfl: ]
I'm looking for a little advice & direction really...hoping you lovely lot can help - I've just been diagnosed with PCOS, combined with a pituitary disorder [going to get this further tested this week - probably a tumour] - all my googling has thrown up that a Low GI diet can help to alleviate the symptoms of PCOS, alongside Maca...but nothing seems concrete...and I feel a littleby it all...any advice on what I should be doing to try and conceive? Feel like giving up from time to time but at least now I have a diagnosis I can move forward I think?
Argh..sorry for long post & ranting nature - feeling very 'woe is me' today

Gymfiend - welcome ! I'm sorry I don't know much about a low GI diet alleviating PCOS but I'm sure some of the lovely people here will know something! Thank you Triggles
Google is such a dangerous place - finding out all sorts of horrid things. I'm so puzzled...I don't think I've ovulated in nearly a year - so hey at least I haven't officially been TTC for that whole time as it was impossible!

Have you been temping at all? That might give you an indication if you're ovulating - or GP can do a blood test (I think they time it around cd21, although I believe they are aiming for 7 days past expected ovulation). And yes, the internet has some scary stuff out there - just enough info to scare us silly!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Hi Gymfiend.
A low gi diet is good for PCOS. We saw the fertility clinic dietician over 3 years ago, and she said nothing about what was best for PCOS. However earlier this year I contacted them again to see about getting a sibling for DS, and they said then that low GI is getting really good results for PCOS sufferers.

I don't think I'm ovulating because I've not had a period in pushing a year...:o
Low GI diet is the way to go then...thanks for the input, at least now I can feel like I'm moving in the right direction - good luck & lots & lots of baby dust to all, xxBaby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -

Hi all. I've got my first fertility consultation in february and today I'm having my first freak out. It's ages away yet, I know, but I'm starting to consider all the possibilities. I know that a lot of you here are already facing these things, but so far my day 21 tests and hubby's sperm test have been fine, so I've just been keeping the faith that it'll happen one day.
But now I'm wondering how I'll feel if I get given bad news. How do you lot cope realising that things aren't going to "just happen"?Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
I know it is silly question, but how long did it take you to see a specialist from first appointment with GP about not being able to conceive?
I am just reading jiblets post and she has an appointment with fertility specialist in February - that is 2 months away, and she got the blood tests, etc, so it is at least 3 months from initial appointment..
Any of you had any dealing with Bupa? Our police states, that investigations in infertility are covered, but not the treatment... (I am sure they have many ways to get out of doing even the investigation, but any of you went through Bupa for any initial investigations?)Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
jiblets - I think most importantly you have to try to stay positive - there are always options. And there are so many times that I've seen people told they wouldn't be able to get pregnant without intervention and then they get pregnant. For us, we started testing, then got pregnant with DS. We had a number of losses, decided to start looking at adoption, and got pregnant again with this one. Now we're just hoping for the best for this pregnancy.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
