  • Congrats Meltrix! Hope the next 8.5 months are good to you both, well done ;)

Despite doing my best to hide AF came and found me. This has been the worst month in a long time. Emotionally i was a complete wreck for 2 days, bordering on deep depression. Its crazy what hormones can do. Physically i was cramping badly for 7+ days before she arrived, and it got even worse on CD 1 & 2. Thankfully the cramps have eased up somewhat now. To top it off i had a horrible virus on Sat and Sun, extreme nausea and dizziness coming on and off out of nowhere. I was too dizzy to even stand up for 1/2 of yesterday. YUK.

So, another month for us and entering another year without a bean or BFP. Due to app times this will be another natural cycle for us. Praying hard that i ovulate and we at least get a chance. DH and I are not getting on at the mo, hopefully things will be better by BD time lol

Hope everyone else had a much better weekend than me!!
  • Way to go Meltrix! So pleased for you & your DW! Do keep popping in & let us know how you are all getting on?

I just had a stressy half hour or so and am not feeling too happy......Clinic not phoned so I called at 4.20, and kept calling (knowing they leave at 5.00pm, and I HAD to know whether EC was going to be Weds or Thurs so I knew whether to inject the trigger tonight).
I left a couple of messages and kept trying to call. Was on the verge of calling their 'emergency number' at 5.00pm when they finally phoned.
Despite our conversation with 'our' nurse this morning that Thurs would be better all round for us and the littlest embies - they want me in on Weds. I asked why this decision? but 'our' nurse had gone home (I know she starts & finishes early, so expected this) and I couldn't get anything out of the one who called - she just kept saying that I was down on her chart for a Weds 'slot' and that was it.
No consultants available to answer my questions either.
Then followed a repeat of the conversation I already had this morning about timing the injections tonight....yet another reason Thurs would have been a better option for us.
I really got the distinct impression that they are going for Weds just because they have a 'slot' then, as opposed to it being the optimum time, and I don't feel too happy or confident about it now, wheras I was feeling both all day after the scan appt this morning.....GRRRRR!!!!!!

Maybe I need to do that meditating when I get home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Meltrix - Congratulations!

FE - don't they have to schedule it for when it's optimum for your system? (sorry I'm not really yfamiliar with the procedure) I can certainly understand your frustration!

myaccount - so sorry! fingers crossed your next cycle is the lucky one!

It is so aggravating when they schedule things for their own convenience rather than when suits you, and has the best chance of success, particularly when you are paying through the nose, not just financially but emotionally too for every cycle. I'd be fed up too in your shoes. In fact the situation would call for industrial choccie, a nice warm bath and some rubbish telly or a good book tonight (or MSE of course!)

But will be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you on Wednesday and Friday nonetheless.

I'm on day 8 today and my Clearblue monitor is still saying low fertility, but my cervix is moving up, and I'm starting to get fertile mucus tonight. I think I should ov by the end of the week or over the weekend, which would be good timing as we are going away for a romantic weekend without the kids this weekend (timing is complete coincidence). OH is sticking religiously to his diet and taking his pills every day, as am I. A useful side effect for me is that I've lost 7 pounds in 8 days (though some of that was menstrual bloat). So although its too early for any change in diet to affect OH's guys, I'm holding on to the fact that he got me pg once before when his sperm count was not too dissimilar to what it is now, so maybe it can happen again.

In the meantime I've been super efficient today and booked a smear for before I ov (I'd been putting that off for nearly a year in the hope I was pg each month), and a feel-good pamper session before we head off too. In a strange way I'm glad we're not doing anything more medicalised this month, as it takes some of the pressure off and gives us a chance to just enjoy being together. On which soppy note I'd better stop before I make you all vomit ;) !
  • Wow, well done Meltrix and DW - How wonderful to have a BFP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fairy Elephant - love and kisses heading your way - our first time was a bit like that, and our son had to miss his first day at school because of Egg collection!!! I was really, really, really stressed out, and to cap it all it was just when there was a tube strike, and I had to get to harley street - I was 1 1/2 hours late for the appointment as I got stuck on a bus - I was climbing the walls big time - but it all still went ahead okay!!! (although sadly didnt work)

Nottslass - big hugs to you too - and both of you STAY CALM!!!!!

    hugs Lilo
