Hi alex, sorry you are having a bad time. When I had a mc, I was scanned after and it had all come away. My periods went back to normal. Have you tried the doctor? It is poss that your hormones are all over the place and may be just settling down - the body can really do some wierd and wonderful things. I hope it sorts out - Lilo

  • Thanks Lilo, I keep telling myself that it's probably just hormones resetting themselves and I have to be patient.....

    Morning Ladies,

I'm going on Holiday tomorrow & just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck.

FE - keep those follies growing !!! I've got everything crossed for a good fertilisation rate. X

Angeladavis - Hope you've managing to stay sane !! Not long to go now -when exactly is OTD ? (sorry if you've mentioned it before, but I can't find it)

sominum - Exciting stuff eh !! best of luck for ET and remember to take good care of yourself & your precious follies after transfer.

Everyone else,I'll be sending positive fertile vibes across the continents (whilst lying in the sun & relaxing with a cool drink)

Well done Somnium :TGood luck for Thurs.

Have a great Hol Nottlass - hope we have lots of good news for you when you get back!

Alex w - I had similar, although not for as long as 20 days, afetr my m/c in Jan. The 1st period after the m/c was fine - on time and normal, if a bit heavy, but the next was late and very light, with about a week of wiping but no real show on a towel (very furstarting at the time as I wanted to get on with the next IVF cycle and needed a definite start date!). When it did eventually start it only lasted 2 days and was nowhere near a full bleed like I usually get. I seemed to be the only one worried though! - the GP and the fertility clinic all just said 'sometimes these things happen' and were not concerned.
After 20 days though, I would def. go see the GP though, just to set your mind at rest if nothing else.
    All the best.

AFM - well I'm back to clinic later this morning for scan #3. Had a bad evening yesterday - my PMA has definatly 'left the building' - very tearful and down, for no real reason. Was supposed to be going out but cried off as I just didn't want to see people and have to talk to them!
We've not told anyone in detail this time, except my mum and my best mate (who guessed), but a couple of friends who knew before have gussed that we must be having a cycle again and asked - I just said that yes we were trying again, but left it at that - no details or timing - and they have been good enough not to keep asking. Still wish we'd been able to keep it more of a secret altogether, but having to go into hospital for the ectopic and then having the m/c meant that a few people had to know.
I want to talk about what we'll do next - if it doesn't work - but DH won't discuss it. He just keeps saying it is a waste of time because it is going to work this time. I feel like I need a 'fallback plan' but he's never been a great one for planning anything, so he doesn't really understand. I want to see the councsellor, but may have to cancel my appt tomorrow if I am going for EC on Friday, as I can't keep taking time off work. Oh I wish this were all over......

  • Thanks for the advice/kind words....yes I'm with you all on the frustration/waiting/trying to summon up patience..

I think I will wait out this cycle and see what happens (Oh, how glad I used to be that I have 35ish day cycles!!)I'm still bleeding and seem to have a period-y feeling down there.
The nurse from the gynacology dept already said just to wait and see, so I doubt that a GP would say much different at this stage.

Also, I live in Holland and early on in Dutch lessons (in the chapter about going to the doctor), you're taught a phrase which basically means "it gets better by itself" - and told that you'll hear it a lot at the doctors! So, they have a more hands-off attitude.
When I took the meds for the missed-mc, it was at home and OH took the day off. I gather from reading on the internet that in the UK it's usually done in hospital.

Just! It has been really hard to be honest. I am usually a very get up and go so no way I can lay about! I have been working on a charity web site that I volunteered to do, so at least my brain is exercised. Test day is this Saturday - 13th ;).

Somnium - good luck for tomorrow!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

You are right, usually if you have meds to complete the mc its done in hospital (well it is in my area)
I had tablets to try and complete my first mc. Took some at hospital and went home then back 2 days later for more tablets and lots of agony!
It didn't work for me and ended up having a D&C.
Second mc I opted for the D&C, I wasn't going through the tablets again!
