    Me again!

It's Monday and we are 1st on the list at 7.30am!

Just had to tell my boss I'll be off Mon and poss Tues (they say don't drive 24 hours after you have the anaesthetic) - don't think he's too impressed (mainly the short-notice - but what can you do?), but never mind. Got to not concern myself too much over work, just concentrate on being positive!

    Have a good weekend everyone,

    FE -x-

Well done Lilo on doing Race for Life! - I have done several, but not signed up this year as had no idea where I would be at that point! Have just signed up with Halifax for a charity credit card though - £20 to Cancer Research just for taking it out, then a % of what I spend on it to them, and 6 months interest free on purchases...can't be bad!
Just got to convince DH to take the SK's and our friends on the sponsored walk even if I am not going, and it means I might have to go to blastocycst transfer on my own if it is on Sat. It's another important cause - Meningitis research - so I don't want them to miss it even if I have to.

TTC with FI - RIP my 2 MC Angels - 3rd full ICSI starts May/June 2009 - BFP!!! Please let it be 'third time lucky'..... EDD 7th March 2010.

Good luck for Monday FE and s*d work, this is more important, you must give it your best shot.

Well done on your sponsored walk - great to do it for meningitus research, and I love the donation for Cancer research - I already have a halifax one so cant do. I have always supported these things before, but now I just feel the need to give something back. When I was having treatment, I helped out in some research, and had extra scans and donated tissue, as I really feel that it will help others in the future, and if people hadnt done it before me, I wouldnt be in the good position that I am in now.

Anyway, off my soapbox, and back to the weekend - enjoy all!

    Hi all,
I was hoping for some advice as my GP seems to be giving me the 'brush off.' We having been trying for 18+ months and no luck (I am 30, previously on pill for 10yrs approx and hubby 39, both fit and well). I visited GP in jan and blood test were 'norm' have continued until now, (using privately purchased ovulation strips) and returned earlier this week to GP to request further investigations to be told hubby needs to be tested first. I was hoping to have my investigations completed now as hubby away for 6 months(Army) and he already has 2 children by previous partner. Explained to GP reasoning however just repeated have to wait for his return.
Am I right to pursue with another GP at surgery or would you suggest another course of action? any advice welcome . Thanks
Making small changes, hoping they will last....

Hiya Becc4 Welcome to the thread!

I have found that normally these things are pursued as a couple rather that the woman having the problem on their own. My GP did do sperm tests before referral, but others may be different.

It cant help to try another GP - they seem to all think differently and you would appear to be being discriminated against with hubby away - I have found it takes 3 months to get to see a gynae anyway.

    Good luck anyway! Lilo

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Well, a quick update from me. As mentioned, I left doing another test until today as a just in case but felt pretty negative about it - my painful boobs had disappeared and the spotting was a bit on and off so I thought this would just finalise the whole thing. I had bought a ClearBlue digital test as I hadn't liked using the Boots one (which had been left from when we were ttc naturally).
So I did the test this morning and couldn't believe my eyes when it read "Pregnant 1-2"!!!!

OH and I are stunned. After picking ourselves up off the floor, we cried our eyes out! Then I went downstairs to my parents (they live with us) and then all four of us were in tears!

I still can't believe it and keep checking the result.

What a emotional rollercoaster week it has been!!!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Angeldavis, that's brilliant! Congratulations! :jBrought a tear to my eye...

Becc4, our GP would not send me for tests before DH, but he was here and available. That said, it then took 3 years and eventually a massive row with the GP for him to refer me after DH's tests were ok. I'm 31 but my DH is 52 and had children from a previous marriage but then had a vasectomy which he had reversed 18 years later, so our situation is different. I would try a different GP - there's nothing to lose. Some people seem to have better experiences with their GPs than others

AngelDavis massive congratulations! Brought a tear to my eye too! It seems the 12 month thread is doing better than the normal TTC thread of late which is absoloutely lovely! I hope you have a relaxed, happy and healthy 9 months to enjoy the fruits of all you've been through.
I've picked the PMA back up now and am now on CD7 of this cycle so hopefully ov approaching in the next week or so. I hope there's a few more of us on here that can join you and Nottslass with the BFP's.
