    Hi Ladies,
Hope you don't mind me butting in here.
Am on my 5th IVF 2ww, no successes yet and am beginning to think there never will be. Am almost 31 and have been ttc for 8 years now, only one tube and severe adhesions.
Due to test on Sunday, unsure of how i'm feeling right now but am driving myself nuts symptom watching, as i've never had success at this I think that I should feel something as I never have before, if that makes sense, but today I feel totally normal.
Have been pg once before last Feb, but it was an ectopic and I almost died from internal bleeding.
Hope everyone has better luck than me and my hubby.

Forgot to add, this was a blastocyst transfer, single and the first time we've tried blastocysts.

Hi ladies sorry I havent posted lately, I have been keeping up with all your posts though :D Well AF showed up today and its the first time in months I haven't been dissapointed about it, this means the IVF journey begins in 3 days squueee. Microgynon till 16th May when I start sniffing suprecur. Still not looking forward to injections but am not going to panic about them, its all for a good cause. I have a mini ice pack thanks to the MIL after a suggestion from someone on here that they help numb up for the injection. Am feeling really positive about the whole thing, and everyone who knows is being really supportive so am hoping all the good vibes will put us in a good place for everything :D Have gotten back on the wii fit too see if I cant shed a few more pounds in the next 6 weeks or so too.

Just also wondering what folic acid everyone is taking, and if your bothering with the omega3?

We are also on 75mg of aspirin here, one a day, upto the day before EC and started again day after ET. This was advised by our clinic.
No caffiene here for the last 4 years either, well, only in chocolate :-)

Im miffed about that as my consultant says no benefit but so many others say it's worth a shot,
My clinic a Guy's and St Thomas's have new devpt at blasto stage so im hoping whatever they have learnt will help me, my last transfer was a 3day and i had 2 replaced and 1 frozen embaby, im hoping with what they say they have learnt they r hoping to get more of my embryos to day 5 and give me that extra chance, though saying all that a friend is pregnant with twins after a 2 day transfer.
If this attempt doesn't work i will change clinics but will struggle aswe picked this on results and consultant experience itms.
lots of luck for sunday lisa xxxx

Thanks very much Toniq, we had a day 5 blast put back, but only one cos it was high quality and I had mild OHSS so they did not wish to risk twins.
    We also have 1 snowbaby.
We had 15 egss collected, 9 embryos and 2 made it to blasts, thats was a horrible nerve wracking experience but only time will tell I guess.
It's gonna be a loooong week!
If you wish to give aspirin a go yourself I do not believe it could be harmful, of course unless you have blood issues already (not making any medical recommendations here folks!) another fertility forum I am a member of a lot of people on there have used aspirin despite it not being 'offered' by their clinic.
    Good luck

    Welcome lisawood78,

Good luck for Saturday,Great news re the Blastocyst transfer - at our clinic the success rate is about 70 % !!!!!

toniq - I've been advised to take 75mg aspirin this time, apparently it can help with implantation.

sominum -Glad that everything is going to plan - I got some Emla cream from boots (£2.50) to numb my leg before the injection, you only get about 3 doses from a tube, but its worth it if you have a low pain threshold !!!

As for me,I've got my down regging scan on Thurs & then I'll hopefully be starting the stimms.

    Oooooh is all go !!!!!!!!!

Hi, and welcome to new peep(s).

    Hope you're all ok.

Saw my doctor to ask about the progesterone. Told me the result I got before just meant I hadn't ov'd that month (I was told I must have ov'd from looking at my temp chart when I went to the doc to get the result in the first place). We have to just try again and I'll be sent for an early scan if I get pg again.

I don't feel like my concerns about not producing enough progesterone to sustain a pregnancy were really considered - hope I get pg again soon and sail through it - don't want to lose more babies and then they identify a problem that could have been dealt with now..

What a lot of developments there are, and so many on the IVF journey again - really hopeful we get some results, that would be spectacular.

My clinic also recommends use of baby aspirin from ET, apparently because it thins the blood, it improves the blood supply to the womb and improves implantation. I think it depends on the clinic, but unless you already have blood issues, it can do no harm (no med advice intended!!)

AnnieM, a friend of mine swears by progesterone cream - she had had a couple of miscarriages, and then started applying this cream, and now has 2 gorgeous boys - she showed me all the research from a doctor in America, which tbh looked and sounded really impressive. I tried it myself, the first time it worked really well and I felt better and my cycle improved. When I tried it again it screwed up my system, and really shortened my cycle, which would appear to be because I became progesterone dominant rather than oestrogen dominant (IYSWIM) - ie I shouldnt have taken it cos I already had enough progesterone. Acording to this guys research, this cream is better than pessaries as it is more potent, and easily absorbed. the Website is www.progesterone.co.uk - I am in no way medically qualified, and am just passing on what I was told. When I had IVF, you are routinely given progesterone pessaries from Egg collection to help it along so from that point of view it is obviously beneficial, cos you do not normally have a progesterone issue at IVF. I think my experiences show though, that self medication can cause problems, so I would say that it is worthwhile if you know there is a problem that you are trying to rectify, but if you are just trying different things, you could cause more harm than good, but I think that goes for all the self help things you get.

Hope this helps, and am thinking of all of you on theIVF journey.

Welcome Lisawood78, will be hoping the news at the weekend is good XXX
