I just caught up with the great sperm race. Here's the things that I didn't know. The reason to not leave BD too long is because not only do some of the sperm die, but the dead ones decay and make the alive ones worse off. Also, I didn't know that the cervix is full of lots of little "tunnels" the sperm can get lost in. And that the entrance to the fallopian tubes is reaaaaaally small.

So I guess now I know more reasons why it can take so long.
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o

Hmmmm I'm feeling very odd today. I feel like AF is about to come (feeling crampy) but on checking the calendar I am only on cd16. I had a dicky tummy on Tuesday night and felt fine yesterday so I don't think its a leftover from that IYKWIM.
My shortest cycle since recording them has been 27 days so even if I am on a short one this month its still too early for AF signs. I dont usually feel like this until a day or 2 before AF due and usually the cramps are accompanied by dbs/spotting but I have none of that.
Also, thinking about it I felt quite teary yesterday but I put that down to hubby being away on business and I miss him :o

Have to see how I feel in a day or 2.
Can infections of any sort in that area feel like AF cramp? Saying that though I have no other symptoms of an infection so I'm very confused.

I get occasionally AF symptoms when AF is not due. Don't know why, just get it sometimes. Goes away in a day or two, usually..

I am feeling very low on energy today. Was sitting in a meeting all day, and was getting a bit cross with the guys as they were wandering off the subject all day. Couldn't say anything as I am just scribing this time, and my colleague, chairmen, is absolutely useless!!!!! I was getting a bit snappy today... Not good, but I just couldn't hold my nerve anymore.

I am on CD25, my temp got a bit down today, and I know it is not going to be the month, but there is always a hope for a miracle. I am feeling a bit nauseous this afternoon, but it must be the food... A bit of cramping, so probably AF is trying to show up early again!

    Hi Shelly,

Could it be ov pain? I've had that a couple of times in the past, usually for about a day.

I did think of that but when I get ov pain its off to one side, this is at the front, exactly where AF pain usually is.
I wouldn't think twice about it if AF was due but she's nowhere near due.

hey people not been on in a very long time a good few months but still plodding away in ttc. well that me and hubby at the two year mark this month for trying. so we are hoping our weight is nearly up but who knows. on the bright side if we concieve this month little bubba would be due on our bdays as me and hubby share the same day - how ironic would that be if the three of us had the same birthday i would find that freaky. lol oh well if it gets us a baby we do not mind,
did any1 watch the sperm race or something that was on channel 4 the other nite,? interesting. well i have to go to docs for more blood tests tomorrow, so hopefully they are not sore, fingers crossed. also got good news i am going to be an aunty again another little baby in the family made me a bit envious lol

hope everyone is doing well and we get some bfps

  • Hiya Everyone!

Mrs Ryan - not trying to get your hopes up, but after my 1st IVF I had 2 x neg tests before I got my positive - my first symptom was nausea too - and like you I am a big girl who loves her food! The guys I work with had done a fry-up and the smell of fried eggs made me chuck (sorry - TMI!). I also had a mad need for chocolate & cake (not usually got a sweet tooth at all).
Maddeningly, my symptoms carried on for a month after the ectopic was diagnosed and the m/c.

Nottslass- I have every confidence in you! You ARE going to get that BFP this time, and then I AM going to get one the cycle after you (currently going to start my next cycle which is due to start 12th April, so downregging should start May 3rd....).

Lilo - (((Big hugs)))! You always sound so happy and positive in your posts - you are a star!

Ginvzt - hope you feel better soon. Congrats on the move and hope your furrybabe is settling in OK.

Alex w - welcome and please feel free to post here. M/C is so diffcult to get through, it really helps to 'talk' to those who have been there I found.

Somnium - when are you starting your IVF (sorry if you've said before and I missed it)? You may well find that stress/anticipation affect AF - they certainly do for me! I have been 'late' both times when due to start an IVF cycle......

(((Hugs))), waves & good wishes to everyone else!

As you'll tell, I'm having a bit of a positive spell at the moment! I made it through the 'difficult' w/e with PG BM, godson, Mum's day with DH's rellies...and came out of it OK (I think copius amounts of wine helped mind you - LOL!). Saw the counsellor yesterday and she said how much she 'admired' me for coping with everything so well!!!!!! Don't really feel that I AM coping - it's just like walking along a cliff-edge really and one wrong step could send me plunging into depression & despair, but I'm clinging on to that handrail with all my might!
Taking advantage of my positive mood I have fianlly got a referral from the GP to a specialaist consultant about my foot, and got a cancellation for Monday! Also booked to have my hair cut tonight (in the mood to be drastic and go SHORT!), and just booked a Sun w/e for August Bank Hol.
Marilyn Glenville's book 'Getting Pregnant Faster' has just arrived from Amazon, so I'll be reading that this w/e and trying to get some more diet/health tips to hopefully help the IVF to work and avoid another M/C.

WOW - what a long post! Well done if you got to the end! Have a great w/e everyone!

Good to hear from you Fairyelephant - and lovely to hear you so positive. I really believe that this helps with ttc. As for the positive mood, I think I feel so lucky to be in the position I am in, everything is a bonus! Of course, I am not currently ttc, so am not up to my neck in it at the mo, which helps!!!!!

Mrs Ryan - dont give up yet, leave it a day or two and try again - fe is right, it can take a few days to show, its just when your hormone levels get high enough to register on the stick. Keep us informed, I still have my legs crossed for you!!

Have a good weekend everyone!! Lilo
PS havent watched the sperm race yet, not sure if I want to after what you have all said, I may prefer blissful ignorance. If it was as hard as they are appearing to say it is, I am sure the human race would have died out!! Remember that sperm are specifically designed for the task, and it does only take one sperm to get you pregnant - They are produced in such high numbers because of the journey they have!!

BUT AN EXTRA NOTE FOR ME AND SHELLY, AT LEAST WITHOUT A CERVIX, WE HAVE LESS CHANCE OF LOSING SOME OF THE BLIGHTERS, WHAT DO YOU THINK!!?!
