  • Morning myaccount, thanks for the information, you are right about getting proffessional advice rather than just taking more supplements.

I really feel for your situation, and am a little envious of friends who seem to get pregnant without even trying! Oh well I am sure that it will happen for us some day. Please keep smiling i am sending you a huge virtual HUG :)

  • Hi All,

Oh I am SO with you on the jealousy front! Every time I think I have it sussed and can cope, it seems like someone else gets PG 'at the drop of a hat' and though I want to be happy for them, it sticks in my throat.
Just yesterday I was 'in the loo' in work - although I'm pretty much on my own in my little office, I work in a big building with shared facilities - and there were two PG women washing their hands & 'doing their faces', discussing their pregnancies. The one who was about halfway through was doing nothing but moan about her symptoms, and I just wanted to burst out of the cubicle and yell at her about how lucky she was to be in that condition! I didn't of course - just sat there and had a good cry to myself after they had gone.

Becs & Gymfiend...know where you are coming from with the weight issues. I have struggled all my adult life with it, and not until finding out a few years back that I have PCOS did it start to make sense why I have so much trouble losing it. The only way I can do it is by sticking to a strictly calorie controlled diet of 1200 per day, AND going to the gym 4 or 5 times a week for strenuous workouts. I did this for over 2 years...and the results were amazing...BUT I still didn't conceive, and I had NO social life to speak of, and I was pretty miserable doing it! I liked being able to wear smaller size clothes, but I'm actually a happier person now I'm bigger again, as I am more relaxed, and have time to have more fun!
I'm still pretty fit and active, and I totally challenge the whole 'BMI thing' as a way of judging how healthy people are, and especially judging whether you are able to have IVF treatment! Luckily I managed to talk my consultant around!
The anaesthetist told me both times that the main worry with overweight ladies is that if they are 'chubby' around the chest/throat area, they worry that it is more difficult to maintain their breathing whilst they are being operated on. Luckily I am not in this category - mine is around my hips & tummy & thighs! - and I have no problem with the anasthetics.

Sorry - this has turned into a bit of a long rant!

Hope everyone is doing OK today. I have a pain in the back of my mouth where I had a wisdom tooth removed a couple of years back - not sure if this is giving me the sore throat, or if I'm going down with a cold, but going to dose myself up anyhow just in case - far too busy to be ill at the moment!!!!

(((HUGS))) to everyone (virtually, from a safe distance, just in case I am getting a cold!)

    Hi Gymfriend,

I'm on bromocriptine because of ttc endo thought this was the best one. I'm waiting hopfelly that my next blood test in a couple of weeks shows the new dosage is working again. My periods returned within 4 weeks of being on the bromocriptine and have been regular since. Having been on the new dose for 4 weeks I have noticed that I have ov'd 2 days earlier than usual and 4 days earlier than last month which may be coincidence or it might be the meds making a difference!
On another note I found I was getting way too stressed temping and using ff to record, my temps were all over the place and I never could work it out and often didn't think ff was right! I'm so much happier using the clear blue monitor now, i feel it's really taken the pressure off.

becs am with you on taking temps, it just made me panick too! When I first started this nothing like the Clear blue was available at a reasonable price so I just gave up.

I'm also with you ladies on the jelousy thing altho I've had to learn to block it at Mothercare, I just dread the IVF not working or worse still a MC as I know I wont be able to cope working there. I seriously considered giving it up and going to work else where, but travel is an issue for me and the money is good for what I do, and obviously when I do fall it will be dead handy. For me its worse when I hear someone has fallen PG and I know them, the strangers that come into the store I can just blank. I think I'm quite a level headed person and that really helps, but god knows what will happen during IVF when I'm full of hormones eek! I've got a feeling work could be quite stressful aarrgghh!

Somnium, i think you're great! i certainly couldn't cope working somewhere like that while TTC, i get jealous too, i can hold it in, but it really gets to me sometimes. Obviously can't mention any names here just incase...but anyway, when i thought i might have been pregnant a few days ago, i was talking to my friend who is 17 with 2 children... i was saying i wish i knew when i'd ovulated...she replied"whats ovulation!" I couldn't believe it!:mad:She's been blessed with two beautiful babies yet doesnt even know how her own body works. As you can see, im still annoyed by it.
Sorry rant over, but some people don't realise how lucky they are and take it for granted that they can conceive and don't have a clue about their body etc etc.

Hope you are all well, i'm just getting through this months Af then gonna give the OPK and BBT's a try-to be honest i really don't think we've been bd'ing enough near to ovulation time,TMI HERE- but i never really feel "up for it" at ovulation, i get like that later in my cycle, so things are gonna change i think! OH is in for a treat this month ;) x x

PeachyJem it always amazes me how ignorant some people are about TTC and babies in general. The questions I get asked at work sometimes are mad, and I wonder where peoples common sense has gone! Thats what really annoys me the most.

    Hi Somnium,

It must be incredibly hard working in Mothercare whilst going through all this although definately agree it is easier with strangers. The thing that upsets me more is reading stories like that of baby p and wonder why we live in such a cruel world that give children to those who can do such dreadful things to an innocent little being and not to those of us who have loving stable families with so much love and care to give.

Peachyjem I know what you mean about never being in the right frame of mind for bd'ing. Unfortunately one of the symptoms of the prolactinoma I have is low sex drive so that's great for ttc!:rotfl: I have a friend who was ttc for a couple of years and she went to a reflexologist, the reflexologist told her one session she was ov'ing and to go home that night and really go for it. She went home that night and ended up having a blazing row with her dh and not speaking for 3 days! Don't you just love female hormones!:rotfl: She now has a beautiful 3 month old little girl so she got there in the end.
  • Im a bit late to the party, but 100% agree on the jealousy thing too. People are insensitive even when they know you are ttc and going through IVF - my daughter in law told me that she had had soooo many problems conceiving and it took suuuuuch a long time - a whole 6 months WOW, I was so upset for her.

    Lilo,
a friend of dh's has known that we've been trying or wanting ttc for nearly 2 years. She got pregnant by accident as never wanted kids. She came to dinner with some other friends who weren't supposed to know as she was only 9 weeks but it came out and they all were congratulating her and all excited and she just said "wish people would stop talking like this is a good thing as I'm still not sure yet!" Now that's insensitive!

She sounds like a right cow!

I'm in an odd mood today - temps are good so far, and finally got a clear ov date on my chart, but a bit later than usual, which was probably from the stress of finding out my prolactin was up! :rotfl:

I'm a bit fed up because I really think that my job is the main cause of my elevated prolactin levels, as my general stress level is greatly increased by work - I just feel like it's stopping me get pregnant. (although I do seem to be ov'ing)

Sorry to add to the list of the disenchanted ttc-ers. Hope everyone is ok, apart from being a bit fed up!
