  • Tine - yeah! They offered me cyclizine but it's contraindicated with the medication I take for my joints so I have to wait until it clears from my system by which time I'll HOPEFULLY have stopped spewing.

I KNEW I shouldn't have googled it... yes it's on my hospital notes (just checked) but I so shouldn't have googled it... ARGH!
And yes... I was not only diagnosed with it - checking the symptoms - that's me! FLIPPINFLIP!
Bad news if like blotted said - this could last the entire pregnancy!!! And it's exactly what mum had too  noooooooooooooooooooooo
Right that's really upset me now... I'm gonna have to go find a chocolate bar or something... *sniffle*
It does also explain why it started so early in the pregnancy - apparently that's normal for HG... *sigh* They said it in the hospital but I just thought it mean morning sickness - if slightly worse than normal...

If you can cope without it then do! It's an anti histamine and it can make some people drowsy - ie ME :) I've managed to step it down to 1 a day but I can DEFINITELY feel the difference in my nausea levels... problem is that I can't drive if I take any during the day!

Hi ladies - can I come and join you please? I'm a little early, only 4 weeks - and I hope I'm not jinxing it!

Did my pg test yesterday (and today *cough*), went to the docs this afternoon and I'm booked in to see the midwife on 10th Dec - how far away is that?!

Got to wait to hear from my consultant as I have Crohn's disease, but I don't think there'll be any worries.

    I'm so excited!!

Actually, just done a calculation - the receptionist said the midwife likes to see people at around 8-10 weeks, and I'll actually be 8 weeks on 15th November. I'll be almost 12 weeks on 10th Dec which is when I should be having the scan. Have I got that right if we conceived on 4th Oct? I think they count the weeks starting from the first day of your last period, which was 20th Sep.

    Congrats pinkpig!

I was 4 weeks when I first popped on here... 9 now and seeing the midwife on Tuesday, the times gone quite quickly... although doesn't feel that quick when you're feeling rotten!!!

Yeah if you're 4 weeks today then you'll be over 12 weeks on 10th Dec... I'd ring the receptionist and double check on Monday... Although it could be because they're busy and that's the only time they can fit you in... Your first appointment needs to be a double appointment because of all the form filling that has to be done...

They don't work from your conception date because that could really be any where (the sperm stays alive several days and once the egg is fertilised it can take up to a day before it implants)... they work from the first day of your last period :)

So working from 20th of sept you're 3 + 6 (3 weeks plus 6 days) - I'd have thought you should be seeing the MW mid to late november... but not everywhere is the same and some midwives are very busy and booked up... My surgery is massive and only has 2 of them on 2 days a week - if you're busy tuesdays and thursdays you're in trouble! :)

As for being early... I was on here early too and am still only 9 weeks - I don't want to upset you but as early as you are there is still a chance of a miscarriage... but it's important that you realise that should it happen it's not because of anything you have done wrong or not done! These things happen... and we have sadly seen a couple of them on here recently one who had a due date only a day away from mine and it scared me to death...

what i would say is don't tell anyone other than your partner yet and maybe your best friend and your mum. SHOULD anything happen you will want people who can offer you moral support and it's nice having someone to talk to about it :) But you don't want everyone feeling sorry for you if the worst should come to be...

Remember to take your folic acid!

I've started the folic acid today - I think I'll go into the doctors on Monday and check the appointment date - I don't want it to be too late that the hospital can't fit me in for a scan!
