Congratulations!!!!
Is that first appointment for booking in and your first scan all on the same day?
My first appointment was at about 11 weeks, but was the full booking in, blood, wee and the scan.
I found out at 5 weeks, and that 11 week appointment seemed so long away!! Then after the 11 weeks one, the next appoint was 20 weeks - again - it seemed years away.
I promise you, the time flys by, i'm 24 weeks now and getting higher up the list at a scarily fast rate.
No, that was just for the initial appointment with the midwife at the doctors surgery. I'd then have to make an appointment for a booking and scan once the midwife sends the referral letter, so 10th Dec would be way too late as I'd be around 11wks 3 days.
I'm going in to change it on Monday. Well I have to share this with you all - I know it's REALLY early but I'm so excited - I advertised for a steam steriliser on freecycle, and also replied to an offered advert of baby equipment. I went to fetch them this morning and I have:
Avent steam steriliser
Avent bottle warmer
Fisher price kick and play bouncy chair
2 Dr Robert colic bottles
Tomy baby carrier
Babaslings.com baby sling
I'm so pleased and grateful to the lady who gave them to me - it would have cost me at least £150 to buy them all!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -

Oh and Tony had Liam's wallet all along!!! And he went to the canal, took the kitty money out and threw it in! I thought he was going to meet the driver of the car to pay him off...I assumed it had all been set up...has it or am I one step ahead of the scriptwriters?!

Oh my gosh mirrorimage - that's the same date I've calculated for me too! Got to wait and see the midwife though - when are you seeing yours? Only asking as I'm sure they've got the dates wrong on mine!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

Me again! Only 4 days now till my due date, and still no sign of her coming out.
Had to go midwives again yesterday, but they are so parpy. Got to see a doctor again and when we asked about birthplan, she said "oh the midwife will talk to you about that next time." bf went "but she's due next week!" eventually she got the midwife to talk to me.
Just a quick q about breast pump hire. My sil has got a industrial one out for hire for free from a support breast group, but she lives up north, and when I asked the midwife about it, she just gave me a lecture about why I should be breastfeeding myself and not relying on a machine.
Anyways, I can't get one for free like she did, and the one she has is £65 for 14 days!!!! And then £30 per month after that.
I'm thinking about the Medela Swing Pump. Can anyone recommend?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Some breastfeeding groups will lend out pumps but it's hit and miss depending on the group and funding available... If you're in a Surestart area it might be worth asking what support they can offer. Also, in hospital (in a perfect world) you should be shown how to express by hand, a lot of mothers find this far more efficient than a pump... only just fount out this morning with a home test but going from my last period it will be the 27th june but suppose the midwife will give me another date anyway
my first boy they told me the 10th november and i told them the 21st i had him on the 19th
my second boy they told me the 29th june i told them the 18th and i had him on the 18th
so we will wait and see what date they give me this time lol
i have a doctors appointment on tues for something else so will book for the midwife when im there.
does anyone know when you have to tell your employer, we were waiting till 12 weeks before we told anyone but im asuming work will want to know sooner for risk assesments etcnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -

OH is currently scouring tesco shelves for oatcakes... It's always a bit hit and miss there though... I told him to pick up cheese anyway...
